Reedy River Falls Historic Park & Falls Cottage
This beautiful park features two breathtaking waterfalls, scenic overlooks, six landscaped garden areas, nature trails, a lovely pond, and a land bridge. The 1838 Falls Cottage that once served as the home of the George Dyer family and shoe business is located within the park, as well as a historic grist mill and informative plaques that provide details related to history and native species of the trees located inside the park.
If you want to know one thing that makes Greenville truly unique, just look at Falls Park.
This area is so amazing, and you can find or do so many things.
My wife and I have spent countless hours in the park enjoying ourselves, and you don't even have to pay to get involved in the fun.
The falls are gorgeous, and the Liberty Bridge overlooking them is a great example of unorthodox architecture.
You can sit on the grass and read, watch kids playing in the park, listen to musicians playing, take in a show at the stage on the green, enjoy the flowers and natural beauty of the stonework and historic mill site, walk along the river, swing on the swinging benches, peruse the shopping areas, and many more activities.
The park is family friendly and just plain great.
A+ for walkers, runners, sightseers, bikers, urban outdoors at it's finest. Greenville has done an excellent job of turning downtown and the river front into a go to place. I'm a hiker. The parks and the Swamp Rabbit trail from down town to the zoo are perfect way to be outside while having excellent eating and sight seeing activities. Safe of women travelling alone while the hubby is at a conference. Beware, the visitor center is not open on the weekend. Pick up the Greenville visitors guide at your hotel or send for it. It is very useful travel guide.
I love that it has the laid-back atmosphere of Pensacola Beach boardwalk and yet, it has the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street....only you WANT to have your kids with you. It is unique and a fantastic place to be in daylight, and with all the lights in the trees, breathtaking at night. It is clean, well-kept, and loved by everyone. If you are coming this way, you can't miss going there! Good food, GREAT gelatto, and after dark it offers a night life that allows you choose innocent fun or drinks if needed.
I love the Reedy River Falls Park.
Greenville,SC is my hometown. My husband & I take our 3 daughters there very often for a picnic or just to walk through Downtown adn take pictures. I am proud to call Greenville home. We have the small town feel with the excitement of larger cities. I hope everyone who visits feels like this is also their hometown.
It is a beautiful park right in the middle of downtown Greenville. I would highly recommend a visit. There is a medium sized waterfall, walking trail, beautiful flowers, lots of grassy areas for a picnic.
We visit to take out daughter to the shriners hospital located nearby and we always try and find time to visit this park, because it is always a nice ending to a stressful day. So relaxing and beautiful...

We drove from South Florida last weekend to find Fall leaves. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of Greenville and especially the Reedy Falls area. Our sons had never experienced Autumn and they had a blast. We look forward to making this trip again next fall.
Whether you like to photograph flowers, the river or the man-made structures (stone bridge/suspension pedestrian bridge), you will love this location. If you spend a little time you will see many opportunities.
