Should have booked longer tour
By StephanieD, 10/5/06
I found this on a Myrtle beach website, and decided to make reservations for hubby and me. I had 2 days set aside so we could be flexible with the scheduling, as it was off-season, and that was helpful, since charters have slowed down. During the summer, book ahead, as he is busy from dawn to dusk! My husband is paralyzed on his entire left side, so we needed extra help getting him on and off the dinghy that transported him to the boat, and onto the dock at the end of the trip. Captain Dave is a sport, and we managed well. He has also taken the wheelchair-bound, and the very obese (we're talking 500+ pounds) on his yacht, so don't let anything deter you from doing this! We were booked non-private charter, which is $20.00/hour/person and the least expensive. Also booked was another, younger couple, who took advantage of the stern of the boat and a bottle of wine. We ourselves brought cheese, apples, and strawberries to snack on, and binoculars came in handy to look around. Had my husband been able, I would have loved to book the all-day tour, which involves a picnic on an island that has many beautiful, unique shells. This was a relaxing, romantic sail, and one we will do again!

Amazing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
We had a great time sailing. We loved learning about the boat and had a wonderful and relaxing time sailing around the bay. We saw dolphins and lots of birds! Captain Dave was very nice and a knowledgeable sailor. I would recommend this trip highly to anyone looking for something fun/different/relaxing to do on the coast of SC!
