Poor Customer service

If you aren't a member, don't expect them to care. Slow play, greens burned out lack of attention to detail. Other courses are looking happy to have visitors, not this one.

Watch out for the gators

Other than the twelve foot gators on three and eighteen, it's a great course. Hopefully the new owners will put a bit of cash into the course and create a staff that undrstands top quality service.

A Hidden Jem

I was in the Beaufort area last month and came across a place that locals don't tell you about. South Carolina National Golf Course was a place of perfection. The staff made me feel like I had know them for years. The course was in great shape, and I even beat my buddy out of a beer in their Pub. I will visit SC National every time I am in Beaufort.

Watch your money

The real problem with this club is getting your initial deposit back when you decide to no longer be a member. The initial deposit for some of the earlier memberships was paid in addition to the yearly membership fee and was to be supposedly refundable when the membership was terminated. The management offers every excuse in the book such as "the rules have changed" to simply not communicating when you attempt to get your deposit returned. Some people have waited for years without getting any of their "deposit" money returned as originally promised.
