Regal Aiken Mall Cinema 8, Aiken

My night at the Regal Aiken Mall Cinema 8 on 8-12-2011 was the worst time ever. I am a 45 year old mother, who took my 15 year daughter to meet her boyfriend, to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I also had my 19 year old son and his 18 year old girlfriend join us. Before my son arrived I bought a ticket for myself to see the movie The Help, and I bought tickets for my son and his girlfriend to see Final Destination 5 . I waited in the theater, and when they arrived I gave them the tickets. My son and his girlfriend had left there ID in the car, and the person working at the front taking tickets said it was ok since I was over 21 to let them in. I went to my movies and they went to their movie after buying $30 worth of popcorn and drinks. The movie they went to see was rated R , and 20 minutes into the movie they were told to leave because someone said they didn't have ID on them. I also was called out of the movie I was seeing by a female manager. The manager said the person working at the front taking tickets shouldn't have let my son and his girlfriend into the movie, because I wasn't seeing the same movie with them. She also asked for my credit card to give me a refund. My son was so red in the face because of the way the female manager was acting. I then became upset because he had done nothing wrong and was being treated so unfair. After my son left, I wasn't able to keep my mind on the movie so I decided to seat out front and wait on my daughter to come out of her movie. Well, while I was waiting the female manager decided to talk with several staff members about me and my son. Not knowing I was sitting there on the other side of the counter with my cell phone recording what she was saying. I can't wait to share is with her manager. My problem with this is - My son and I wasn't doing anything wrong. The girl taking the tickets said it was ok. as long as I was in the same theater with them and 21 or older.

Regal really needs to build a new theater in Aiken. This place is old, simple as that. No stadium seating, which is the norm for theaters now-a-days. I really don't go see movies here anymore, I tend to go the the Regal 20 in Augusta, it's just as quick to get there (right off the interstate vs. driving through neighborhoods to get the Regal Aiken 8). I've never had any problems with the staff, they're neither friendly nor rude, just indifferent. On the other hand, the place is really dirty with food on the floors, etc. I've always thought they should build a new theater attached to the Aiken Mall, this would result in more traffic for both the theater and the mall, both of which could use help. Overall, a mediocre experience.

Very friendly staff ! We have been there for several shows at different times of day and allways found it to be clean and comfortable. A bit on the small side but it does the trick. The seats are super comfortable with arm rests that can be moved up out of the way ! Like sitting on a love seat! One seat fits all. They could get a better candy selection... they need plain M&M's :-)

This cinema has gone from bad to worse. When I went for the last movie we came out and there was popcorn thrown all over the floor, a line to the door for concessions, and after a long line at the bathroom it was filthy. I asked a kid for a manager and he was very passe. Not the kind of service I expected paying such high prices for the film. Also, there are no student OR military discounts which most theaters offer now. All in all, I used to come here often when I was younger, now that I can drive, I'm going to Augusta.

Pretty nice for a movie theatre, but needs to expand the theatre portion soon, as very crowded on weekends-felt packed "like a sardine" while watching the movie...also, needs to have more staff working the refreshment stand, especially during peak times-two is not enough! I probably will go back to Augusta-especially since the stadium seating at Regal there means no bad seats! My daughter (age 11)could not see over the person in front of her, and we could not move due to crowd..we had gotten there early to get a good seat, and when the "rush" came in, there were no other seats to be had after he sat down!

My experience was horrible there was poor customer service, the movie audio kept fading in and out. Also,the movie cut off right in the middle of the climax of the movie. It seems to be that everytime my girlfriend and I decide to try it one more time we end walking out because of the technical problems they have. The whole purpose of going to the movies is to enjoy the company that you are with and the satisfaction of not having to worry about being interrupted. With that said we have decided to take the long drive to Augusta Theater.

The theatre was full-not one seat open. It was hot and loud. A family was having a birthday party in the theatre. It was loud and unorganized. Not a relaxing experience for family time. And lastly, my children couldn't understand why they cound not have cake/goodies. A theatre is not the place for birthday parties!

It isn't the greatest, it isn't the worst. Some theaters have nicer seats than others, and the place is usually pretty clean.

I found it to be understaffed on a Friday night. Only two people behind the concession stand. The audio system is very poor quality. Next time, we will take the drive to Augusta.

I REGARD THE REGAL AIKEN MALL CINEMA A NICE CINEMA TO GO TO, IT'S LARGE ENOUGH FOR THIS AREA AND IS VERY SELDOM SOLD-OUT. IT SHOWS MOST OF THE POPULAR MOVIES WHEN THEY COME OUT (AT LEST 8 OF THEM), ONLY ON A FEW OCCASIONS HAVE I BEEN THERE TO SEE IT "CROWDED" - NEVER OVER-CROWDED. THE AIKEN MALL IS GROWING SO THE CINEMA MAY NEED EXPANSIONS IN THE FUTURE. BUT IT'S GREAT FOR OUR AREA AT THIS TIME. IT'S ALSO KEPT CLEAN AND HAS GOOD EMPLOYEES.
