Place was nice but all the dead animals on the walls sort of freaked me out. My main problem with this place is that it just smacks of gluttony, greed and overconsumption. Just being there made me sick to my stomach. I guess I would much rather go someplace where it's about the tastes and sensations of food not just about stuffing yourself silly. Try Nick's on Broadway, New Rivers or pretty much any place on Federal Hill. $70 is just a waste of your money unless you're one of those competitive eating people because you only get two hours to get your money's worth. Don't take a vegetarian here.
We vacation in Charlestown during the month of June (1 week)and look forward to the pleasant, friendly staff and food cooked to perfection at the Nordic. The seafood is my favorite. Sometimes we have to make 2 trips to eat there because of the Charter buses; but it's always worth the wait.
I'm no poor guy and I love to spend money to go out to eat. Travaled 2.5hrs for this place. Beautiful grounds, nice clean bathrooms. But I was expecting a little fancier in the resturant part. The employees were very good. But the problem is the price, $67 per person. It's not worth it unless you're a pig like some feedbags going up for 5,6 even 9 lobsters like this one guy up there every 7 minutes. I see why they had to raise the price from $50 area, because the feedbags really take advantage. There's only so much one regualr person can eat. Let's see, 2 people...$134 no alcohol (I don't drink), you're better off trying it once then just stick to a good local seafood place and save some money and gas.
I do not eat seafood and I love this restaurant. The marinated steak tip are out of this world, the desert bar is worth every penny if you have any room left. The ice-cream bar is fabulous. We always go in group of 10 or more people. It is not an inexpensive restaurant, the wait can be long, enjoy one of the many frozen drinks they have to offer. The staff is the most friendly group I have ever encounter, they will teach you how to crack your lobster or they will do it for you (every time you come back with one from the buffet). We go every year, sometime twice.
More than you can ask for! The Lobster is unlimited, huge shrimp done many different ways, filet mignon cooked to order and a dessert bar that will knock you out! I get there at least twice a year...it's a three hour trip for me but well worth it.
