I was with a couple of friends who wanted to go to Aidan's, saying how great the food was -- and that their veggie burger was really good. Being a vegetarian for several years, I have had my fair share of veggie burgers, so I was excited to see if Aidans' was as good as it's reputation.
Needless to say not only was the veggie burger sub par but the service and the atmosphere were unpleasant. Although the sweet potato fries were given rave reviews by my friends, because I do not like potatoes, I had asked the waitress if I could remove those and instead have a side of the vegetable of the night (which happened to be green beans). When my meal arrived, I had sweet potato fries on my plate and no green beans in sight. Additionally, the restaurant itself is quite tight and the dining area -- or at least some of the tables -- are uncomfortably close to each other and the door.
Honestly, it wasn't a horrible experience, but I will probably never go back.
Love the sessions on Sunday - especially Hughie Purcell. Love the fish & chips and REAL corned beef reuben. It is noisy, and we wish the space around the band were larger but still love it and will be back every other Sunday.
Been a devoted patron of Aidan's for over 10 years but since they changed the restaurant the food is not as good, the waitress are uncaring and service is slow and inefficient. The old place was more typical of an irish pub, now it's more like any other restaurant. Too bad, we loved it before and now won't be back.
Although it is very noisy, it's an awesome place to go out to and relax with your friends! Their steak is amazing, you tell them how you like it and it comes out perfect and just the way you want it! :) mmmmmm steak!!! I can't wait to go back!
ps- try their sweet potato fries... they go well with the steak! :)
I go at least 6x/year!
