Pocono Candle, Smithfield twp

The staff here honestly disgusts me. They are so rude. When you go in there you get attacked by each worker as you walk through each section. Stay away from the jewelry as it is all very low quality and made of the worst materials. There are times where friends have gone in there to return items and were made fun of by the staff. Other times when I am trying to talk to my friends/family while there they come up and talk over me to show the cheap junk they sell there. I will never, ever give them any business again. The staff are spiteful. There was one women in particular who just kept bothering me and my friend the entire time we were there, continually showing us junk. I think she was doing it on purpose because she overheard me telling my friend I thought she was rude. Never in my life have I been to a store with worse staff than here.

I have been going to the Pocono Candle Factory for over 21 years. I'm not sure why the past reviewers gave this place a thumbs down. The staff has always been courteous, funny, and friendly. My children have been coming with me for many years also and we are planning a trip there tomorrow. I go quite a few times a year. We are about 80 miles away from the candle factory so I usuallly buy in bulk. The prices are really reasonable, the candles smell amazing. Infact I recommend "memories of home" scent. It's amazing. Once I bought an oil lamp from there and came home to find it had a hairline crack in it and the oil all leaked out. The next day I drove up there to return it and I had no problem exchanging the lamp and they gave me more oil also at no cost. I would easily order from them on line, but I enjoy their atmosphere and the aroma of the candles much to much to miss the opportunity to go there in person. I highly recommend this place to anyone!!!!

The most rude and arrogant staff you will ever find. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid this place. There are too many other candle establishments in the Poconos than to have to deal with being treated badly by these folks.

I can't believe the way this staff treats people. The stock is old and dusty and when you tell someone they reply with nasty comments.

Tried my first candle from this place and it has no scent at all. I get better smell from dollar store candles. Don't trust the hype, these candles are terrible.

We received a candle some years back as a gift from our son. We recently visited him and his new wife on our trip from Texas and bought a few to take back with us. The quality and scent release is no where near what it used to be and the wax is all chunky and blotchy now. We asked for some help from a staff member upstairs and she said "I'll be with you in a few minutes" and then disappeared not to be seen again. We wanted to find out why their flyers advertised $8.99 each and we were charged $9.99 each. We were very unhappy with both the service and the product, so we must recommend that you not shop here. There are other candle shops in the area, so choose one of those. We found one in Mountainhome that was very friendly and the candles were wonderful.

The staff was rude and one made a comment about how new yorkers being uneducated. Extremely poor attitude displayed by manager when told of this incident. We went out of our way to visit this shop and were treated as an unwelcomed customer. I will never go back, and will be sure to tell anyone who will listen about their attitude towards visitors.
