Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park, Lake twp

Our family went back to Claws N Paws for 4th of July trip this year, been a couple of years, but we all had a great day. It was extremely hot today (90's), but being in the woods made it much more bareable. Kids are a little older and were able to enjoy animals more than last time. The staff and zookeepers we encountered were very polite and helpful. They also have new restrooms which was a big improvement from last time. Didn't experience negative things in other posts, its fun day out.

I think they are 'trying' but they are severely falling short. The enclosures seem very small for the larger animals, many are stressed (pacing endlessly or completely lethargic) and the zoo has a horrible smell and rodents. On the other hand, because my children are ignorant to the conditions, they love the added value of feeding the Lorrie's by hand, petting the turtles and the selection of animals to be seen. I am sure this zoo, like every other, is under regulation and inspection but for a true animal lover the conditions are sad and you will leave having much compassion for the animals.

This place is the worst zoo I have ever been to. My fiance and I went there thinking that it would be a great place to visit in really nice weather. We are both animal lovers, we left more depressed then anything else. The cages were way too small for each of the animals and a lot of the bigger animals were pacing around and stressed looking. A couple times we actually made sure an animal was still breathing. Don't waste your money, it will only go to the gift shop, not the animals who are clearly in need of some help.

This is a great zoo set in a very natural woodsy setting. Our grandkids ask us to take them back every year, they get to enjoy activities they don' t normally get to do at other zoos like feed a giraffe and lory parrots, or pet tortoises. The staff has always been nice and helpful, and the animals well cared for. Definitely recommend.

A friend told me about Claws N Paws and she highly recommended it, I came and read the reviews as well and was a bit surprised to see such bad reviews -- we almost didn't go. However I am so happy we did. I thought the zoo was so much fun and lots to do besides look at animals. We loved feeding the birds and hanging with the turtles in the turtle den. I see reviews where people say it smells ..... Hello your at a zoo what would you like it to smell like? Overall I thought it was a great way to spend time with your family. And we will be back next year for sure.

i can only say its not that good i can see that they dont have the resorces to take care of the grounds correctly

Went to Claws N Paws today and loved it!! I like that you have to walk into the woods... seems like a natural environment for the animals. Staff was friendly and I got to feed some birds which was neat. Lots of animals to get up close to! Bathrooms are a little out dated, but they are currently building new ones! I will be back next year!

Claws 'N' Paws is a great place to visit! There are many different kinds of animals and they are close enough that you can easily see them. I also like that you can feed animals like the giraffe and birds, and can pet animals like deer, goats, turtles, etc. They also have shows with animals that are informative. There's also a dinosaur area that is fun for kids. The gift shop is very nice too. The snack bar doesn't have a lot of choices, but you can bring a picnic lunch if you desire. I visited Claws 'N' Paws with 3 generations of my family and we all had a blast!

the only good thing was the gift store. The walk ways were a mess, you want famlies to come with strollers put some sidewalks in. Had a difficult time walking around either it was all rocks or mud or both. Poor restrooms.

i love this place and i make a point to go every year. i am very surprised to see all the negative reviews. i did not have time to read them all but on with the good review... they have a giraffe you can feed for free, most other places make you pay. they have a cage with birds you can go inside and feed them. theres a lot of fun stuff for the kids to do all around the place and a great variety of animals! cant wait to go back!
