Description

This excellent museum rivals similar institutions in larger cities like New York and London, thanks to the vast Carnegie fortune. The museum makes for a great day out with the kids, and the surrounding area also offers many attractions. Recent exhibits have included displays on the Amazon rainforest and the perennial favorite, dinosaurs. Admission is USD10 for adults, USD7 for seniors, USD6 for children and students, and free for members.

The Carnegie Museum
By ,
My Dad took me to The Carnegie each spring as a child. I took all of my classes there as well. It is the best museum in the country, better than The Smithsonian, in my opinion. They have the greatest display of dinosaurs in the world. Their collection of rocks is also very impressive. A free library is also housed in the rear of the building. Phipp's Conservatory awaits right behind, & The Cathedral of Learning is just across the street with it's international classrooms, which are especially charming right around Christmas*

This was nicely laid out, 13 dinos at least, good explainations and supportive information backing up the exhibits. Nice Indian exhibit, nice combo of Art and Ancients
