We sampled 6 fruit wines. After our server saw that we picked her favorite wine to sample (Blackberry Wine), she gave us one free additional wine to sample. They were all delicious. Most tasted like fruit, but the strawberry wine had more of an alcohol flavor and did not seem as smooth and sweet. The best ones were Almond, Raspberry and Blackberry. We ended up purchasing the blackberry wine, its a port and is great with champagne!
We walked into the winery before they were closing...we were attending a concert that evening in their event center. Of course we were unsure of what we would find, we had never been to the winery before. The winery is beautiful, the staff is charming, the concert that night was the best! We booked 2 more tickets for an upcoming concert. What a nice surprise to find such a special place.
Being new in Bucks County, I finally stopped to visit the New Hope Winery, located in a big red barn I pass along Route 202. Once inside the 17th century barn with its gorgeous wood floors and huge wine racks, I was greeted by very pleasant staff, who encouraged me to try some of their 21 kinds of wine. Everything I tried was very good - -and it was free!
They have whites and reds and they also specialize in local fruit wines. I am not really a fruit wine drinker, but theirs were really delicious. My favorites were the Raspberry, Fresh Peach, and Blackberry.
The Blackberry was the most expensive wine, coming in at $18.99 a bottle, but it is well worth it. I bought 2 for myself, and 3 more to give out as gifts. Their other wine starts at about $9 a bottle, and they have all kinds of gourmet food products too taht you can sample. I would definitely go back and buy wine from them again. Plus, they have fun events and things to do on the weekends.
