The Lancaster estate of the 15th President of the United States, James Buchanan; Wheatland is open from April through October Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pennsylvania's only United States President bought the 22.45-acre estate, which included the main house and several outbuildings, from a Philadelphia attorney in 1848. 4.25 acres of period-appropriate gardens, President Buchanan's home, and three outbuildings are what remain.
