Our Garden Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/08
I love going to Longwood Gardens. The gracious grounds are so well designed that I feel inspired every time I go there. My husband and I love to garden, and I am an artist. This is a delightful getaway for us! Thank you! Victoria and Michael Stavish

Longwood Gardens

Beautiful! What did I like Best? It's hard to say...The darling tree houses, The Italian Water Garden, the wooded paths, waterfalls, lily ponds, bee garden, lovely stone chiming tower, the bonsai, the topiary...! The indoor conservatory was the Best I've seen...Even put Phipp's, Hyde Park, Kensington Garden... to shame. I could smell the rose garden a half a mile off. What a lovely place, Thanks to the Duponts.

Great view of plants

I enjoyed the layout of the facility and all of its decor. The visit was pleasant, the personnel were friendly. I did feel this place was a little expensive... Otherwise a very good little place to see.

Where Beauty and History Meet
By L, 08/31/05
An unexpected suprise in a suburb of Philadelphia, Longwood Gardens boasts DuPont family history and horticultural excellence. Wear your walking shoes to follow the many pathways throughout the Gardens. If you have children, it's a good idea to bring a stroller. Wheelchairs are available in the main lobby as needed. The jewel of the Gardens is the Conservatory, where each season is celebrated in natural splendor. Bring your camera. You'll find it difficult to take a bad snapshot in such a lovely setting. At Christmastime, the Conservatory is decked out in its finest, including several very tall Christmas trees. During certain hours you can sing carols to a well-tuned antique pipe organ. A few steps away from the Conservatory is the Terrace Restaurant which serves fairly upscale meals. The cafeteria provides good casual fare. Visiting Longwood Gardens is a must for anyone touring Southeastern Pennsylvania!
