Great park
By D, 01/17/10
This park is great and relatively quiet, free parking, etc. On many occasions I have walked, jogged and cycled around the park, which is ~ 6 miles. I was there today (16Jan10) jogging and it was great. great to take your dog for a walk, great for the kids and a very nice scenic place. Nature park probably doesn't get that much funding, but at least it is there.

A local's favorite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
Being from and having grown up in Doylestown, I visit the park frequently and find it to be a personal favorite to get away from the world and walk and take in the nature, water, and sounds of the earth. It's a great place to go kayaking or have a picnic with friends. I absolutely love taking my dog there to run and play. Its overall a really nice park with a lot lot love of land and lots to do.

Nice park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/09
I'm reading some of the reviews which seems to be the bikers complaining about the walkers. I've only been to the park twice and honestly for the person going there the first time...there's nothing that I saw that said it's a bikers only path & if it is a bikers only path, where are the walkers supposed to walk??! It's not very well marked. Somehow I don't think the park was intended for just bikers

Nice, but -
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/08
The scenery is very nice. In the fall, it's beautiful looking across the lake when the trees are changing colors. The "Nature Center" needs work. The information in the center needs up-dating and a better presentation. It's also dirty. My biggest "Gripe" is with the people on the trails/paths. I've biked at several parks & trails in Pa. & N.J.. I have to say the people on the trail/path at Peace Valley are some of the most ignorant people. They don't want to "share" the path, they "own" it. I've been there several times and it's the same every time.

Decent for an after-work run/walk
By ColorMeDisappointed, 08/02/08
This is a decent park for a casual, after-work run or walk, and a quaint family picnic. There are various watercraft, I'll say, that you can rent to use in the lake. You can also fish, but I also know nothing about fishing, so I couldn't tell you what kind of fish are there. This is a park of the same caliber as Central Park: nature, but not wilderness, and minimal risk of getting lost or encountering bad elements. I am leery of coming in contact with the water and eating the fish. Near the damn there is a small, paved, decreipt asphalt lot with wood chippings and treated wood. I am currently trying to get to the bottom of what pollutants these wood treatments may contain. Also, the Pennsvaylania Department of Environmental Protection has determined that the fecal matter concentration of the water exceeds acceptable amounts...but chalked it up to the very large geese population. Peace Valley Nature Center seriously needs to hire a janitor. That place is gross. Watch out for bikers! They hardly ever warn you when they're "passing on the left/right" I noticed that at Tyler State Park they are more conscious of that, though.

Beautiful scenery but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/05
I've been to Peace Valley Park several times over the last few years. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the paved bike/hike path is terrific. They recently added another section to the path going down to the nature center. My one complaint is that the paths have become a bit overcrowded and the newcomers have no clue whatsoever about trail etiquette. Perhaps it was a function of when we got there, 1:00 p.m. on a Saturday, but on our last family bike outing walkers routinely walked two or more abreast blocking the path. They wouldn't move to the side or walk single file even when we dinged our bike bells. That wouldn't happen on the Delaware Canal towpath. On the lone descent near the nature center, two young women walking a puppy were blocking the path. As I swerved around them I said "Careful, one more coming". They completely disregarded what I said, continued to block the path and caused my 8 year old son to veer off the path, hurting himself and damaging his bike. In general the total lack of consideration by walkers for other path users was quite annoying. The scenery and the terrain are great so I'd like to try again earlier in the morning. Hopefully it will be less crowded.
