Fair amount of varied topics in new books section. Local Historical books in great separate area. Paperback section is heavy on romance and masculine adventure books, limited availabilty on suspense, murder, mystery.Available DVDs remaining on shelf are mostly family and lots of Foreign films, you need to reserve in advance items that are popular adult fare . This library has great personnel. But the location really makes access limited for Cumberland County's rural taxpayers, clients who need access most. First you have to drive through unsignaled crosswalks with texting streams of students and then try to park in very limited parking.
The library host alot of children events and when Bookery (used book sales) is open -- access is impossible. The library is expanding the childrens area and it appears the actual on site parking will be a limited 22 spaces with reserved /handicap spaces reducing that number.
I agree with previous reviewer you have to make sure when you return books they are correctly credited. Twice in the past 2 years I have had to pay for books that were returned. Also the parking is awful! They do have a nice selection of movies and childrens books though. The other complaint I have is that a few weeks ago I had to print something off for one of my children because our printer wasnt working properly, when I arrived I had to wait because the computers were full and most of the people were playing farmville. I think this shouldn't be allowed. There are students who need them for things.
Bossler has a great community feel and a wide variety of fiction - which I love. They have a nice children's section as well. My only complaint is their bookkeeping. I've sometimes paid an overdue fine, and they show no record. I also dislike the policy that they make you pay the replacement cost of a new book if you kept a book out too long - even if you return the book. It seems like they should have a cap of $5 or so, otherwise why bother returning it if you have to pay for a new one anyway?
