dorney park is really nice. unlike six flags you can pay ONE PRICE for both the water and land rides. I go every summer. I always have fun.My favorite attraction is the water, i dont really travel and i libe in NEW yORK AND dORNEY pARK IS A GOOD QUICK PLACE TO GOW....AND YOU WILL HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
As a local Lehigh Valley resident, I haven't been to the waterpark in about 10 years. And it will be more than that long before I go back. 45 minutes to wait in line for a 30 seconds water ride? What fun. $15 to rent out a small locker? Nice! No shade anywear, with not enough benches or places to sit, how relaxing.
But the best part was the patrons. Anyone grossed out by people going in the water with underwear on? I was. How about people wearing full clothing? Shorts, shoes, hats (yes baseball hats, fully wet) into the water. I would be surprised if Dorney Park actually would ever say to someone, they couldn't walk into the water with what they were wearing, but heck, why not take all that $$$. Seriously, I would expect the River Ganges to have cleaner water. I was actually shaking with disgust when I saw these gross people (piercings, tatoos, skin problems) walking into the water.
My teenage daughter visited the park with a friend and her family. My daughter left her bag in a cubby outside one of the water rides. The cubbies are provided so that people have a place to put things where they will not get wet. There were probably 30 or more cubbies - and all were in use,so my inexperienced daughter and her friend didn't see any reason not to leave their things there. When my daughter came back from the water ride, her bag had been stolen....she was left with nothing but the bathing suit on her back....her bag containing her clothes, towel, money and cell phone - all gone. Security was completely indifferent to her situation. They made note of what she had lost and gave her a card with a reference number to call back and check up. We called back several times....the people working in lost and found were absolutely clueless. The tracking number didn't seem to mean anything. We were asked, each time we called to describe the missing items, we were put on hold and then told that they had not found anything........
About a week later, we got a message from a very nice park employee stating that she had found my daughter's bag with phone, clothes and a book inside and that she would bring it to the lost and found. When we got the message, 2 weeks later (we had been away on vacation) we called the park. We were told by the representative that the park throws away everything from the lost and found that has not been claimed every 15 days. In other words - your stuff has thrown out. (Or, most likely, divided up among the park employees who wear the same size or have need of what ever you had lost !)
The park employee that had left us the message was not connected with the lost and found department - she called us because my daughter's phone number was on her bag and written on the inside of the book that she was carrying. The lost and found department never contacted us to let us know that they had her stuff - and when we called them, they told us that it had all been thrown out. As many other reviewers have noted, there are thieves all over the park and the security department could care less. If you visit this park, do not bring any valuables with you...since it is a waterpark you will have to leave some of your things somewhere - you can't swim with your wallet and cell phone and car keys - be aware and be careful.
Dorney Park has something to offer everyone. It has both a dry side with the usual amusement park rides and also a water park. Between the two of these and its shops, game rooms, etc there is something that everyone will like at Dorney Park
its really fun the rides are cool and they have a seperate section for the kids with roller coasters and a section for kids water rides and the best part is its cheap and affordable i would recommend this place for everyone of all ages I think dorney park is much better than six flags
