A great place to go with kids
By Stan, 7/3/08
Tons of fun for kids from 3 to 14. one of the coolest play structures ever. If you don't feel like chasing them around there are lots of places to sit in the sun or shade and watch them.

Great place for young kids!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/08
My mother gave us a family membership as a Christmas present and it has been wonderful so far. It's hard to work off the energy of a three year-old during the rainy winter months and the Gilbert Museum is a perfect option. There are exhibits set up inside three different historical houses and they offer a wide variety of fun activities. From the giant crawl-through head and stomach to the room where you can star in a video game, you can spend hours just wandering about. My daughter loved the stage that is set up to look like a castle, complete with dress up costumes for all the knights and princesses.

A great place for kids
By kitten, 7/1/06
This place is a great place for kids to go. The price is reasonable, and definitely worth all the fun the kids have. There are many different exhibits for the kids to check out, and they are all so fun the children don't even realize they are learning things, such as how erosion works, or what magnets do. There is also a huge playground, which is fenced in for the childrens safety. I can easily see a family spending half a day here. There is a consession stand type area where you can buy a very reasonably priced lunch or snacks, and the employees are very friendly as well. This is defintely one of the best places for familys to visit in Salem.

Ongoing Fun and Events!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/05
AC Gilbert Discovery Village is an excellent place for children to romp around outdoors or indoors in sunny weather. The play structures outdoors and the rooms indoors cater to children of all ages. Story times are offered in the afternoon by volunteers and children love this! They offer many classes for children to participate in year round. Classes tend to be a bit pricy, therefore not very pocket friendly to all families... especially larger ones. Overall the experience is worth it... time and time again.
