Captain's Reel Deep Sea Fishing, Newport

I was a little scared to do this as a single women, but told by the owner I would be well taken care of and I was. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The Sea Captian got it's limit + crew fish of Halibut. I'm now wanting to do a tuna trip with them.

We had a wonderful time on this trip. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and professional. We limited out on fish. Overall I would love to go back.

Contacted this "charter" office to inquire on fishing. I was advised by the office girl that Tuna was "hot" She had vague information but I booked anyway because it came recommended by a friend of mine who fished with them last year, paid a deposit with my credit card. Showed up Saturday 27th and was told they had no record of my paying a deposit. The man in the office was finally able to locate my credit card receipt stuffed in a box. I was informed the boat, the Blitz which was recommended to me was no longer there. Once I boarded the boat I found that they had packed the boat with 20 other people. We were not able to fish all at once, there was not enough sitting. The boat only caught 7 tuna!! I would not call this "hot". I would not recommend this charter unless you are looking to take a $200 boat ride. Dishonest office staff offered no apologies or refunds. Shotty business practices at best.

The folks at Sea Gull are fun and professional. I have used them twice for crabbing in the last few years. Both trips have been fun and very productive. We came home with lots of crab and great memories. I highly reccomend them for a great trip.
