Don't take out your camera phone for any reason
This movie theater has a zero tolerance policy for any cell phone. I was excited to finally see Ninja Assassin and took out my phone to update Facebook with a pic. An employee called the cops - one shows up and escorts me out of the theater, interrogates me for 20 minutes before determining I didn't take any video images. I was told to leave, I was with someone so I was able to tell him I was leaving. Embarassing to say the least.
I politely asked for a refund since I didn't break policy, and they told me that I did break it, by taking a picture that no filming of any kind, and no cell phone pictures were allowed. I asked to see that in writing somewhere visible and they looked stupid and said it isn't in writing.
I bet it will be soon.
I'm quite dissappointed that the episode wasn't handled in a more diplomatic way -- instead of assuming I was stealing the movie (on a cell phone). They acted completely out of line. The insinuations were damaging - I'm just glad I don't live here, I would definitely take time off of work to picket this place.
Don't go to Tinseltown unless you obey all traffic laws, follow every rule and never make mistakes.
The cost of tickets was reasonable, but I have to say I didn't feel like I got my money's worth.
