Hellgate Jetboat Excursions, Grants Pass

Personnel were great and very informative. Food is amazing. The wildlife was pointed out to us with other scenic spots along the way (site of the cliff jump from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie). We saw Bald Eagles, Osprey, and otters. This is our third trip this year. This is a "must-do" trip to introduce visitors to this wonderful part of Oregon.

Our group of anywhere from 30 to 50 people have gone on an annual Hell gate trip for the last 7 years, there is a reason we always come back, FUN, well not this year. Our boat driver Greg was very rude to our group and actually even told one of the party that he would be thrown off the boat if he gave him any crap! We weren't allowed to hoop and holler and have a good time.I have called Hellgate to complain, they said they would have somone contact me,but haven't heard a word. We will never return there again, and if you do go ask for any other driver but Greg.

This was our first experience with Hellgate. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip! Our driver Chris was knowledgable and lots of fun! He was considerate of others on the water, and he kept up the fun banter, while chrecking to be sure HOW WET WE WANTED TO BE!!! The BBQ and service at the OK Coral were wonderful and the setting is beautiful! We want to try the Whitewater trip next! We recommended the trip to family, who went two days later and enjoyed it - we can't wait to go back!

Our Captain was Randy of boat "F", The FUN Boat, the Fish Hook I think! He was a lot of fun. We saw lots of wildlife: turtles, osprey, bald eagles, deer, fishermen, swimmers enjoying the river. I was impressed how our the Captains are considerate of other river activities, and campgrounds along the way, although I was sad we had to slow down and BE Considerate! We had a great time enjoying one of the other Captain's of the Blue Herron, he gave us a laugh also. I LAUGHED ALOT. We did get wet be ready for that but you dry out really quick and we didn't get drinched at the dock when we arrived back that evening which I appreciated. It was totally worth the money, the food was hot and awesome; all the beer, wine, tea, and lemonaide you wanted to drink, we had great service from the cute little waitress who we found out she went to The College of the Siskiyous in our little town of Weed, CA. My husband and I are making reservations to go again this weekend. Oh my and that gift shop, it's totally awesome. I have more shopping I need to do there!! Don't tell my husband. The Osprey II was awesome and Captain Bo made the trip. We saws 3 eagles, 2 turtles, a raccoon, a bunch of osprey, and 3 blacktail deer We decided to do the Whitewater trip which was, by far, the best choice. The other trips stop even before the HellGate portion of the river. The funniest part is when you pass other people on the river there seems to be an unspoken rule that if you spray the jetboat with a water gun the boat, in turn, you get sprayed back with waves of water. This is the coolest thing on the northcoast we have experienced yet. BE ADVISED: whitewater does not meat a crazy rafting trip, but you do get to go down class III rapids. Everything we experienced was expected and better than we thought. This is a great boat ride for your money.

Extremely disappointing! What I thought was going to be a White Water Rapids adventure turned into a contest between two boat operators to see how drenched they could get the other "passengers" on the other boat. Never mind that there were 70 year old women on the boat. Their on-line advertisement shows something quite different. If they just operated the boats as professional operators as they advertise on their website we would be able to enjoy the rapids excursion. Instead they have turned it into a "kiddie" ride trying to imitate Knottsberry Farm!
