GREAT PLACE!!!
By ,
This is a great place! I had taken a hard fall while hunting the archery elk opener on 9/25/12 and my cheap holster failed, causing damage to the rear sight of my S&W 329PD. I want my .44 on my hip when hunting in bear country. So Roben Kesel repairs my revolver and fits me for the perfect holster (so I can wear it cross draw or strong arm) while I wait. In 40 minutes I was back on the road and ready to hunt. Thank you to Baron's Den for bailing me out and getting me back on the hunt so expediently. You're great! And the holster you selected for me Roben? I love it! After field testing, it is everything I asked for. Much obliged.

Best I've been to !
By ,
Perception is key , like the guy who complained about intimidating dogs (2 poodles for Pete's sake ! ) Helpful ,courteous staff , awesome selection , willing to do trades ,and layaway , negotiable , I've been to a lot of other shops and , in my opinion , this is the best in Oregon. Don't want attitude ? then don't come in with one . These guys are great , once they determine that you are not a closet ninja or something . Being able to shoot at their range is a real benefit , gun rental board , targets , ammo , awesome ! Every time I've had an issue with a firearm , they have been happy to try and help get me going again ,or assist me in sending it in for repair (once ) My favorite happy place .

Typical B.S
By ,
I have been shooting at the Barons den for a few years and every time they are just not friendly at all. They almost get upset when a customer has the nerve to ask a question. They have a great selection, but they are way over priced. Anyone who thinks their getting a good deal, think again. All you have to do is look at a few other places in town or online and realize they are ripping the average Joe off. Yes they do have a good range but 25.00 just to shoot. Again Save your money and spend it at a company that actually cares about the customer...not just their own wallet.

Bad Service
By ,
Baron's den has a large collection of guns but the prices are high and the customer relations are unacceptable. I went in today to buy a gun and ended up standing in front of a display case for nearly 45 minutes without a single employee saying a word to me. Not only that, but the prices on handguns were at least a hundred dollars more than retail. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Shooting range, toy museum or gun store?
By ,
I would say, all of the above. I’ve been a member for some years now and while I don’t shoot there as often as I would like, it’s always a welcome experience. To find an indoor shooting range with a huge selection of rental guns available is quite valuable for some folks. Personally when trading in firearms towards another I’ve found them to be about the same if not better than other dealers in the area. Hey, it’s up to ME if I choose to accept the deal or not, right? Raye is a great instructor and I highly recommend his courses. Money well spent. Walt and Gayle are most gracious and helpful as is all their staff. Dan I need to talk with…too many stray shots outside the X ring here. Using The Barons Den as my FFL, I find the fees they charge for receiving a firearm I purchased elsewhere is very reasonable. Those transactions are handled professionally and I’ve never felt pressured to purchase from them. Perhaps that is why I give them Always the first shot! And speaking of shots…and I’ve yet to do this…one of the only places I know where you can actually shoot a full auto Tommy Gun! It’s a kick to watch for sure. The smiles are immeasurable on the shooters faces when they do. All in all, it’s a safe environment to shoot, a wonderful Toy collection if you like old Lionel trains, kiddie cars and airplanes hanging from the ‘ceiling’…(one of those words that actually follows the rules of the English language. Yeah!) If you like collectable firearms and new items for sale it truly is an amazing place to visit. To me the only thing missing is a potbelly stove in the lobby and hearing .22 shorts pop off once in a while… Well, that’s another story 50 years ago experienced when my son and I used to shoot at another club…No doubt that club in CA is a mall now. Yuk. So look for the big American Flag just off I-5 in Eugene, Oregon. You can’t miss it. Stop by before you say bye to the Eugene area. You’ll be glad you did…if even just to look around. Remember this is a business, so if employees are busy it’s for a reason. Just enjoy your visit there and I’m sure they will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Brian Smith, proud member.

Good and Bad
By ,
I love the selection of handguns and the indoor range is great, especially in bad weather. Being able to rent guns is a huge plus if you are a member because you can effectively try with a lot of rounds before you buy. My complaints are that they'll stiff you silly on trade-ins and they tend to ignore you if you aren't looking to buy the most expensive thing in the case. Not the best customer relations. Prices are higher than other shops in the area on hand guns but they are less expensive than other shops if you are shipping guns from out of state.

One of my favotite places in Eugene
By ,
Great place to shoot especially when it's raining. Great folks, always friendly, very professional. I really appreciate having this option so close to home so I dont mind paying a bit for it. And yes they do tend to scutinize people carefully. It's a high liability, business and nobody wants a hotdog out on the range with them... Thanks guys, Doc

A Great Place to Shoot (and learn to shoot)
By ,
Very professional, yet friendly. An excellent variety of firearms at reasonable prices. Other supplies and ammunition are also reasonably priced. The staff are all expert in their knowledge of firearms. I strongly recommend the Baron's Den to anyone who wants to learn how to shoot (the classes are taught by an ex-Marine expert); how to handle a firearm safely; what kind of gun and ammo to buy for a variety of purposes. Cookies and coffee and good conersation are free and lots of fun. Well worth the time and the money.
