very nice
By forestgrove, 09/10/08
The spa smelled so good upon entering. I asked what it was she said Lemon grass. Angela helped coordinate my wedding party's services. She was very nice and helpful. My day was fun, relaxing and overall amazing. Thank you for the great service! I would refer the Columbia River Day Spa to brides for their special day.

Mediocre Spa- keep your $ in a real bank!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/08
I was really looking forward to a spa day in this historic bank building. It was only a mediocre day. It was clean. Quiet (except the chatter of the esthetian trying to force product purchase on me)and the Algea Wrap was awesome! However, dont believe the web site discriptions or prices. The photos are not of their facility either. The bland -trying to be trendy decor, the constant product pitching- and geeze- I already spend $400 here in one day- lay off! The facial was not good with NO face massage, neck massage or anything- except some face peels.. (for $70 plus). My massage was standard. The mani/pedi was not worth $90 combined! She painted my nails with color ONCE! No buffing of heels...even when I told her my heels are very dry, need scraping and attention. Sure it was quiet, I was the only customer all day. The receptionist argued when I set the appt- when she called to confirm and when I arrived. (They said she was new.) I really really wanted this to be relaxing and restorative. My first hour was. The next 6 hours were draining- I kept thinking of spending over $400 and wishing I had just stayed home. And what is with those cheesy fountains with smokey water - they are all over the place?! I didnt argue about the price change (from the quote and the web site), I didnt argue that the descriptions told a different service. I didnt argue- but reminded them. I asked for hot stones, eye mask, etc. (and then she over charged me again!) I didnt even argue that they 'gave me a gift'- (that I was charged for- and they tried to slip it in) It was only $7 item...but I didnt ask for a foot buffer to be tucked into my purse. (St. Patricks special the receipt says) huh? I nicely tipped the young gals who would be served by taking that extra tip money and making a field trip to a real spa to see how they do it right. I almost forgot..when I inquired about salon services, they had many stories about how the owner hasnt invested in certain products. AND more stories about a so-called move next year- and needing grants for building, etc. It sounds like this place is going in the tank. A number of employees complained about the owner. I just didnt want to hear it! I wanted a quiet spa day! with good service.

Perfect for a romantic, relaxing treat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/06
We booked the Couples package. It was great! It was only my second trip to a spa and my husband's first so we really appreciated the staff taking the time to explain everything to us. Our therapists did an excellent job and we left feeling very relaxed! We will definitely be repeat customers!

Wonderful Mother's Day
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
What a surprise to be pampered on Mother's Day. Best massage I've ever received along with being treated so special. Thanks again. I'll be back soon.

Great place, what a pleasure!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/06
If you are headed to the Oregon Coast, this is a necessary stop. The place is beautiful and the people are genuine. We had a wonderful experience, just being at the spa was such a stress reliever. My husband and I both enjoyed their services. I can't imagine having a bad experience there. Don't let the previous negative review stear you away from a wonderful relaxing time. We didn't and we are so glad! I highly recommend it!

What a treat for the both of us.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/06
The couples package was just what my girlfriend and I needed to forget all the stresses of work. We were both greated and treated as if we were the most important clients there. The sauna warmed us up for the wonderful sea salt scrub and massage. We followed this with a refreshing hot tub soak. When we left for the drive home we both laughed about how we left all our stresses in Astoria. "We will be back". Thank you so much for the experience.

What a way to spend my Birthday!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/06
I went to the spa for the first time and was breath taken when i arrived. The front desk girl made me feel comfortable. I was wisked away for 3 hours worth of treatments. By the time i left i wanted to take all the therapists with me, they were so knowledgeable and profressional . I Definetly recommend this spa!!!! Two thumbs WAY up!!!

Relaxing in a Gorgeous Setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/06
I love the building here, the people are very kind and accomodating and my pedicure with my daugther-in-law was great. They got our large group in the next day for three massages, an algae soak, two pedicures and a manicure. Technicians were wonderful and the pedicure I received was the BEST ever, lasting close to two hours of pampering.

Two thumbs down
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/05
I found nothing redeeming about this place. The "therapist" I had for my treatment was rough and insensitive to steering clear of certain spots on my body, even after repeated requests to avoid them. After this undignified treatment, she then tried (untactfully) to sell me some miracle electric facial (sold in the state exclusively by them) and their skincare line (again, only available through them) and drug me through their foyer to show me all of their other retail items available. This was not my first experience in a spa, but it was definately the worst (by far) and my last at this place.
