Awesome Horse Ride
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/09
My college girlfriends and I went horseback riding recently at Thunderbird Stables and had a terrific time. Two of my friends had never ridden before so she got a really gentle horse named "Dallas". We even got the two "city slickers" to get their horses to trot. We will definitely go back.

Horses were great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/09
We took our friends who were visiting from Alaska to ride horses at Tunderbird Riding Stables. We are all in our 50's so we were a little worried about the horses not being gentle and comfortable to ride. We have a very leisurely trail ride and the horses behaved very nicely. Highly recommend this activity

Wonderful Experience at Thunderbird Stables!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/09
My family has been riding at Thunderbird Stables for years and have always had a wonderful time. The wranglers are very patient with my grandkids and explain how to sit in the saddle and tell the kids to "be sure to keep those feet in the stirrups". The property is beautiful with trails that wind through the woods and open places where you can see Lake Thunderbird. We almost always see white-tail deer and wild turkeys. The horses are well-mannered and the staff try to match you with a horse that is good for your riding experience. My grand daughter has attended thier Kids Horse Camp in June and loved it. We can highly recommend Thunderbird Stables for a fun family outing.

THE OWNER HUNG UP ON ME TWICE!!!!!
By Sel, 4/12/09
I had called a week in advance to Thunderbird Riding Stables in order to get information on how to set up a reservation for a large group. My workplace folks were in need of a nice break, so I thought It would be a nice outing for us to go horseback riding, which most of us had not done before. The man I spoke to told me their policy for groups of 15 or more would have to give them credit card information in advance just in case we canceled. He said I would not be charged if one of my group could not make it that day, nor would I be charged for the entire group beforehand. My co-workers were all for it, and they committed to going. Excitedly, I called to make a reservation for my group of 30. This is when my nightmare began. A woman claiming to be the owner answered my call this time. She told me I would have to pay with my credit card for all 30 group members beforehand. I questioned this because I was told differently by the man I spoke to before. She told me it was their policy and that I would have to pay for everyone, regardless of if they showed up or not. Again, I told her that the man last time told me I would not have to pay in advance and this was just plain bad customer service. She then HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! After she hung up, I called her back and asked her why she hung up on me. She told me she did not appreciate me saying that she gave bad customer service (what a coincidence??!) and that she was not going to take that from me. I told her that she should not treat customers this way and she was about to make $600 off of our group. "I don't think I would get your $600 anyways" was her reply before she slammed the phone in my ear again. Disgusting.

Not Professional !!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/7/09
Upon arrival we phoned Thunderbird Stables informing them we were going to be a few minutes late. When we arrived we were treated with disrespet. Along with the disrespect, Thunderbird Stables presented themselves in an unprofessional manner. Their attitude was rude and completely inexcuseable. I would advise not using Thunderbird Stables in your riding adventure in the near future.

Not recommended!!
By LaciC, 9/3/07
We took my three-year-old horse loving daughter out to Thunderbird Stables. I called in advance and was told that we could do a lead around in the front. We arrived and were given a horse. My husband was leading my delighted daughter around when we began to notice that horses were entering the yard from the back of the building. There were soon 6 other horses out front and had congregated around the horse my daughter was on. My daughter was happily watching the other horses when one nipped at the horse she was on. Her horse jerked quickly and she fell flat to the ground. I ran her to the building to assess damages as she screamed as loudly as she could. I obviously was extremely upset and asked the owner why it was necessary to let horses into the yard when a young child was being led around. Her reply (over my hysterical child) was, "You shouldn't have gotten close to the other horses." Really---if that was the case, why would they let horses into the yard while a three-year-old was there??? We went back out to the front trying to calm my daughter down and a VOLUNTEER (not the owner, not even an employee) came out to find out what happened. We explained what happened and she said, "Oh, the hands in back can't see out here so they let the horses out without knowing a child was out here. That shouldn't have happened. It was an oversight in communication on our part." WHAT??? I'm glad the safety of a child can be explained away as an oversight. The owners/management didn't offer an apology or even come to check on my daughter while we were on the front steps with the volunteer for at least 10 minutes after the incident. Obviously, there is a complete lack of compassion and respect for the customers that keep them in business.
