JC Penney Catalog Outlet Store, Akron

Wanted to post a FYI on JC Penney for you all. Although it isnt this store but Glendale Galleria in California, it is a uniform jewelry policy. I could not find a blog on Glendale store. Long story short, bought a gorgeous bracelet with the care plan. Several hundred dollars. Broke 2nd time wearing and took in for repair. They called me a week later and said couldnt be fixed and I told them I wanted bracelet back. They said, oops sorry we did a buyout and it has been destroyed! It was white gold and onyx and missing a clasp pin and I said I would repair it myself at my own expense. They kept the bracelet and offerred me a gift card! Argued with them that it was the first gift I ever gave my boyfriend, has sentimental value etc.. Got no where. They also refused to refund the cost of the care plan stating it was used! Not sure how it was used as they did not fix a thing, kept my bracelet, and then destroyed it! However, I was offerred a transfer of my care plan if I bought another piece of jewelry from them! Unless your in the habit of allowing someone to DESTROY your property without your consent, do not buy your jewelry or the care plans from here! I, nor anyone I know, will ever buy from here again! Anything! Imagine if it had been an engagement ring or wedding band and they simply destroyed it or kept it? I have never seen nor heard of such a thing as a company keeping, destroying, and refusing to give you your item back especially once you own it! Never again! I hope this helps others to read the fine print if you do buy it but you will be better off fixing your own as at least then, you get to keep it!
