Bowman Gray Racing, Winston-Salem

We've gone to Bowman Gray for the past 8 years. However, Bowman Gray could be the best, with new and better management. I went to my old childhood track, Hickory Motorspeedway, this past weekend. I had forgotten how pleasant that track was. The setting was 100 times better at Hickory. Didn't have to sit there with someone's knees in my back all night. The racing was better and the management kept tighter reigns on the drivers. There was no drivers wanting to fight or spin out the other drivers, like at Bowman. The whole atmoshpere was more family oriented and no drunks walking all over you, like at Bowman. Towards the end of the nights events, the commentator announced "HOT FOODS AT HALF PRICE". Never heard that at Bowman. They had a half and half drawing. The Pledge of Allegance was said prior to the National Atheum being sung. And I might add that Hickory's singer knew all the words. Four singers forgot the word this season at Bowman. How disrespectful to our country and service personnel. The only thing Bowman has over Hickory...the Modifieds. But with Garrison's politics towards his modified favorite (#1) modified driver stops, maybe the trip to Hickory next season, will out weigh the Bowman Gray tradition. But who knows, maybe the Modified drivers will wise up and go to Hickory and leave Bowman and Garrison stratching their heads. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HICKORY. You are truly the Birthplace of NASCAR.

My wife and I lived in Winston Salem for eight years and went to Bowman Gray Races every chance we had. We moved back to Virginia last month and one of the few things that we will miss in North Carolina is the racing at Bowman Gray. Fantastic racing, never a boring race at a price the cannot be beat, especially ladies night at 1$.....terrific entertainment for the money. We will sincerly miss the action at Bowman Gray.

Where do I begin?My son was attending a week of classes at Wake Forest.We went with him and stayed the week.I checked out local things to do.It was a rip roaring night watching them race at Bowman Gray Stadium.I could not believe it.We are from East Tennessee and have been to Bristol races and Bulls Gap/Newport,etc.This place was the most entertaing racing I will ever see!!!Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!Would drive 3 hrs again just to see another night of racing.

If you follow what goes on at this track you'll find these drivers can really get down and dirty. What excitment and fun it can be. Real beating and banging in every turn. So if you've never been, Go and you'll see. It's the WWF of racing!!!

This track is amazing. The first time I went their I couldnt beleive that i was a track mainley because I thought it was a football statuim wich it use to be. Their is not a bad seat in the place. The racing is the best for short track racing. The atmosphere is really cool. Ive been to maney nascar car tracks and weekly series short tracks and this is my favorite of them all.

There is never a dull moment. My family and I have attended almost every saturday night event since 1996, (my husband has been going since he was 2 years old) Our children look forward to going all the time. The day after I gave birth to my daughter, my husband took our son to Bowman Gray to see the end of a demolition derby. Now you know he has it BAD !!! Modified is our favorite division.

Adult tickets are $10, and kids are either $1 or free. You can take a family of 4 for $22. Where else can you get an evening of family entertainment for that price? Great racing, great small track (I like small tracks because you can easily see everything). Great fun for the whole family! Wouldn't think twice about taking a kid of any age. We go all the time!
