Visit to Tregembo Zoo, Monkey Junction
By ,
My husband and three children 9, 10 and 11 all enjoyed our trip to the Tregembo Zoo. The employees were pleasant maybe because we were pleasant . We reviewed the website before going to make sure we had plenty of time and to check on the rules. You can easily make it through in little over an hour. The animals are in clean cages with plenty of food and water and appear to be well taken care of. I unlike some others who wrote reviews appreciate that there are people who are willing to take animals that need a home and care for them. They have lions, tigers and bears as well as many more animals that are easily viewed. They also have interesting displays and beautiful birds. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals corn and peanuts. It is clearly marked on the cages which animals can have peanuts or corn. We will go again and hope you will too. Thanks for a nice break.

ERASE THIS EXPERIENCE FROM MY KIDS MINDS!
By ,
My husband & I took our children (ages 2 & 4). Arrived approx. 3:45 and were told ASAP that the park closed at 5:00, we asked if we would have enough time, "yes, as long as you dont play around." Almost to the the very end, we were approached by a rude old man, arms crossed, telling us we had 10 minutes left( BTW...it was 4:45 dummy!!) As we rushed our children out, kicking & screaming, we were followed by the dirty old man and his entourage(driving a green golf cart). We exited thru the dark gift store, the lights already turned off). As I was bucklingmy children in the car I noticed that it was 4:58. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND I PRAY MY CHILDREN WILL FORGET IT!!!! AWFUL, RUDE, PEOPLE!!!!!

My family was denied access
By ,
We were not let in because my sons service dog was with us.. the older lady (owner) was extremely rude to my family and had no respect for us or the fact that it s a federal law... we will see what the ADA has to say about this! Also we had 4 very disappointed children one being special needs...

I will never go back
By ,
The old lady in the place was so disrepectful.to us.My husband was on a scooter because he got shot in Vietman and can't walk alot and she was so rude just after we paid to go in. She didn't want him to scare some animal with his scooter----there was a weed wacker making more noise than is scooter. Then it started raining so we went in the store,She liked to have had a fit cause he was getting her floor wet!!! !Dah!! It was raining out side! What was he suppose to do..I have never been in a business and been treated so bad before. I wonder did she have something against handicap people!!!! We will never go back and would not recommend it to any one!!!

Poor animals should be closed down
By ,
I love zoos and have enjoyed going to them for many years. While on vacation we decided to stop by and check this one out. We were very excited while outside but as soon as we were inside we were disturbed to see these poor animals kept in tiny dirty cages. The animals had nowhere to move around and alot of the cages were very very dirty. Most of the animals appeared to need to see a vet as they had one issue or another. I would never reccomend anyone to come here and I truly hope that this place is closed down and the animals moved somewhere that they have the freedom and care that they deserve.

make the exibits bigger..
By ,
I though this zoo was over priced and the exibits for the animals are sub par... my living room in my 3 bedroom apartments living room is bigger then the poor bear cages, this zoo made me feel sad for the animals, monkeys had no way of getting exersize and tossing peanuts at the animals I felt so bad, this zoo owner and staff need to look at what the are doing and fix this place..... Animals need space to move around and at least feel free, Trust me we are fans of Zoo's we have memberships at a few and thats annual, so please when you visit this zoo be prepared to feel bad, oh and the staff has no personality at all. I give this Zoo a thumbs down. Poor animals.

You have to catch the Goat Show
By ,
This is one of the most amzing Zoos, albeit, it's not the Brox Zoo, but it is close. Everything is clean and strictly amazing!! My children enjoyed it so much, it was as if it was the only thing we did on our week long vacation to Wilmington. All their friends and teachers are now aware of those pretty animals at the Tregumbo Zoo. A bit of advice though, You MUST Catch the Goat "half time" exihibit, I think Craig F. called it that. He is the Goat Trainer. He duct tapes himself while wearing Thigh high rubber boots to the goat and rides the goat around while telling jokes and making moaning sounds. We caught the show twice and it is truly worth the wait. Just ask when Craig will be doing his Goat "Half Time" show, since he doesn't perform every day.

mixed emotions
By ,
As a family of 5 we paid $42 to go in, which is not bad considering a movie or putt putt visit costs more. The animal variety was impressive, I was actually shocked. The cages for some of the animals were small and cramped. Then some of them has very nice areas. The monkeys were so much fun to watch and my children had a great time. The birds had small cages and I would love to see them have better. The old woman mention in reviews was rude however when she walked around, the animal 'came to life' . She talked and seemed to really have a re-pore with them. The staff could def. have been more courteous. We plan on making this a reg. outing when we come to CB. If the public doesnt come and support them then their environments will never improve. I was mixed on my feelings about the small, hot cages but overall I think the animals were healthy and happy. I encourage families to go and form their own opinions and write reviews about it. Our family will go back.
