Why is this listed as TOP 5 to do in Wilmington?

This is a mall, A MALL, Nothing more, nothing less.
It has your basic inner stores with a JC Penny, Sears, Belk and Dillard's as the ancors. There is no special draw to it.
There is a kid jumper thing inside by the playground - note this playground is for toddlers. The jumper thing is a bungie corded swing-harness that enables to one to jump extra high and do flips. People up to 200 lbs are seen playing here.
There is also an arcade. Parents note you may not leave your children here alone. Not that I think many would, but don't consider leaving an 11 years old or so there either. It appears that mostly high school kids hang out here. There is no supervision. At times, I have seen a teenager walking around with an apron on to make sure change is given when there isn't a machine to do so.
The architecture offers nothing you haven't seen elsewhere. There is no affiliation with the town of Wilmington or the beach. One keosk in the mall sells nothing but Rainbow sandals. Aside from this one place, there are no indications that would lead you to believe you are in a tourist destination.
I personally find the shopping at this mall leaving much to be desired. I find all clothing retail stores to fall short of what is trendy and has value at the same time. Wilmington and the surrounding area has either inexpensive tredy fashions. A few boutiques are scattered througout the area that cater to the pocketbooks of those who don't check prices. The ancor stores seem to cater to those who want long term value for their money and style or to juniors who won't care what they'll be wearing next season or year.
If your are a tourest, don't bother with the mall - there is nothing you haven't already seen unless you are coming out from under a rock somewhere.
Looking for some special clothing items? Check out Lumina Station. Then maybe Landfall, and the Forum. The Mayfair has a few national retail shops, but nothing you can't find elsewhere. Downtown has lots of the fun finds.
