Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Manteo

This as by far the best beach in the United States. I have been going there since 1989 and will retire there. I hope. The people are super nice and just a great atmosphere. I've been to Va. Beach, Ocean City, Myrtle Beach, Datona Beach and Hilton Head. None compare to Cape Hatteras.

I've been going to Cape Hatteras since 1967 and it's difficult to find a more relaxing place on earth. Between Bodie Island and Hatteras Island you can find the full range of beach from busy to solitary. You can sit and watch the porpoises work the breakers. Over the years, the roads to get there have gotten better. The local businessmen are friendly and accomodating. Fantastic place!

Gone every year for 20 years. Provides both a small island feel with plenty of sights and unique shops. Nags Head and Kitty Hawk are a short drive away, providing more commercial atmosphere (mini golf, Outlets, restaraunts, etc.). Wonderful prices, especially in the off season. Oceanfront in the off season always feels like a steal! Be sure to visit Ocracoke via the free ferry, too. A neat island with good history and charm. Have always and will always go to the Outer Banks.

I did not like the drive there... the drive is very long from the interstate and the signs for direction is awful... they put the sign to tell you were to turn way to close to you needing to turn, they need to be further away to give you more time.... and they need to b a little more plain on where to go....

This place is AWESOME! Not alot of people around so its like having your own mini private beach! Not alot of things to do for the smaller kids but if you look for something to do... you'll find it!

There is NOTHING to dislike about Cape Hatteras. I have spent the last 25 years of my life living here at various times throughout the year and every time I go I find something else wonderful. Cape Hatteras does NOT offer the busy hussle bussle of shopping and partying. Cape Hatteras is located at the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina and offers miles and miles of splendid beaches, solitude, serenity and sun. If you are looking for these things and a place to enjoy them, Cape Hatteras is the place you want to go. I have never found any other beaches anywhere that are as clean, unspoiled and has areas where you could sit all day and never see another person other than the park ranger.

The best thing about Cape Hatteras is that you can drive on the beach and actually find areas where you are the ONLY one on the beach. It's amazing when you literally have the beach all to yourself!
