Andy Griffith Playhouse, Mt Airy

mount airy is a good place to live.i was born and raised here...the problem is the town thinks we will all make a living on the name of andy.they have closed almost all the mills down stripping hundreds of their jobs in the name of andy g.they will give no tax breaks to the few that has wanted to come to our rescue.in the meantime here i sit jobless doing my best to feed 3 kids and a disabled husband.so while youre in good ol mayberry look at the pretty sights...but ask about the ones in foreclosure and in the unemployment lines.the forgotten people they dont tell about in the travel guides.i will be fighting for the farm that has been in my family for 110 years till the bitter end.alot of love,blood,sweat and tears to make and even more to take.i love mayberry,i really do.but i would like for them to worry about more important things.the people are wonderful and friendly...its home.everybody knows everybody.
