Description

Parts of the movie \"The Last of the Mohicans\" was filmed at this privately owned, scenic park that features 75 mile views from overlooks that are accessible by stairways, bridges, and a 26-story elevator built inside the mountain. Other features of the park include over three miles of hiking trails, unique rock formations, rare plant live, a 404-foot waterfall, a nature center, and picnic areas.

Worth the trip

If you have kids, bring bathing suits for them to change into after hiking and go to the Riverwalk on the river between the park and the main road that makes up Chimney Rock town. This is free, and the kids actually liked this better than the park.

One of my favorite places.

My father was the pastor of this church for nine years until we moved two years ago. I loved most of the people, but I WOULD DEFINATELY reccomend this church to everybody in the area.

Breath taking

We spent a day at Chimney Rock Park. The view from the rock is absolutely breath taking. Something that you would see on TV. Almost like a never never land. Worth a weekend getaway. Marlarkin's restaurant is also delicious.

The trails,views,food are all great. A word of caution;anyone not slim,trim and fit should avoid traversing the needle's eye. Fishing and lodging at lake lure are the best. I hope the recent sale of Chimney Rock to the state will be a good thing. The Morse family has done a superb job of maintaining the facility.

Will Visit again

It is some of the most breathtaking views from the top of a mountain overlooking the lake. It is very well kept, no trash, properly maintained facilities, facilities are handicaped enabled as possible and the staff is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the park. It is possibly the best priced adventure I have ever had. Would recommend for the whole family to enjoy and there are plenty of foto opportunities. Just walk, look, and enjoy.

Enjoy scenic moments with your family for low prices. Buy souveniors to fit every person's tastes. Feel secure with all the top rate security and the nice people who are always there to help you. Climb the mountain, see a waterfall, experience nature at its best, and get views 75 miles around. Visit Lake Lure and eat great food. This is the perfect getaway to bring you back to life.

It was an amazing hike. The views were a amazing. I had seen pics, but it is so much better in person. But I don't think is good for small childern or elderly persons. It was a great hike . I had a lot of fun.

Takes my breath away!

Chimney Rock is awesome! I've been twice and I'm planning to go again this summer. To stand at the top and look at such a beautiful sky it takes my breath away. Everything is so natural and beatiful it's great. Thank you for keeping it so beautiful.
