Everything was very expensive, but we gladly paid it for our children's sake. We paid $7.00 each for them to ride the go karts, but had to give up and leave because people kept breaking in line. When we brought this to the manager's attention, he pretended like he was thinking so we would leave. He got his wish. We won't be back.
I feel that I should speak up after all the crappy reviews I read.... I am in shock. I took my kids, who were then 12 and 9, they loved the place. In fact, we were with my husband on a business trip so we went 2 days in a row and we are planning to go back this year. I enjoyed the place and was relieved that my kids were both satisfied. Give this place a chance
OK, went there two years ago and the place was so nasty with gum in the go carts and bumper boats to trash all over the floor inside, (and we got there right when they opened) spent 100 bucks for me and two kids to ride all day, after three hours of waiting and not being aloud to ride the big carts due to an obnoxious attendant's ability to read a yardstick and then the GM vacking his employee, my kids had to go and ride the little ones, which they were too big for. The sign said over 48 inches but less than 56, well the attendant said no at the big ones (56 inches) then the attendant said no at the smaller carts because he said they were too big at 56 inches????? WTH????? Finally got a lady to handle the situation but thy could only ride the little ones. Then we noticed four smaller than my kids ride by themselves on te bigger ones, when I demanded an explanation, they siad they were the friends of the managers!!!!!!! Then we rod the bumber boats and got in two boats that did not squirt??? GREAT!!!! Vowed never to go back!!!!! Well, being a business man as I am, I decided to give them a second try and take my kids there for a birthday party. 200 bucks for 3 pizzas, 3 pitchers of fruit punch, one game of mini golf and one ride on the big carts. The attendant would keep letting these punks cut line in front of everyone!!! GM had no care when I complained, I did get about twenty tokens for the arcade to stop my whining though!!!! GEEZ!!!!!!!!! So then, after waiting for one ride on the carts, 45 minutes wait time, we decided to go on the bumper boats, must of had the same boat as 2 years ago, no water gun!!! When I complained about our boat, she said gt back in line!!!!! Pissed already, I went back in to get the 7 young kids a drink that we had already paid for and low and behold they cleared our birtday table of all drinks and pizza, said we went over our time allotment by 5 minutes. So, I had to pay another 10 bucks for 2 pitchers of fruit punch!!! Is that really the way they want to run a business???? What a TERRIBLE PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on me for thinking otherwise. just because they said they cleaned up a bit, they didn't change their attitudes !!!! To top it off the dag gum PARTY HOST threw a fit because I didn't give him a tip after all of that!!!!! A tip, REALLY???????????????????????????????????????????????????? Trust me and the rest on here----stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably the sketchiest dirtiest little fun area you will ever go to. Yet some how we love it. But then again we're cheap college kids. So yeah, don't go there. Unless all you want to do it play a few games and do go carting.
The owners must be waiting to file bankruptcy on this place! Very run down, DIRTY, putt-putt was closed, batting cage not working, water dirty in bumper boats, many of the go-karts not working, bathrooms were nasty. Only employees visible were teens and no one seemed to be in charge of anything or care if anything was working or not. Went on Thursday when they offer a go-kart special for unlimited rides. So few go-karts running (as many were sitting broken) lines very long, very slow! Don't waste your money going to the Greensboro, NC Celebration Station!!!
Old,dirty, old games, mini golf outdated/just shapes and holes,no windmills, tricks, things to jazz it up. Staff rude, careless, food was OK, by the time they update its already old. Need New building, new go karts, new mini golf, new and interactive games with swipe cards/no more unsanitary tokens, need new EVERYTHING, the good prizes require a hundred dollars worth of tickets/tokens for a five dollar prize. Way. Overpriced for what you get. Unfair to kids. I felt like I cheated my 5 yr old son. Its almost as bad as a broken down chuck-e- cheese. Hey corp office ! Go visit Dave and busters, any Disney facility, learn about quality and service, then ask me for my money ! This place sucks!
First off, let me assure you that the couple of glowing reviews amidst the myriad of awful is undoubtedly an impersonation of the owners trying to pretend to be happy customers to lure in more unsuspecting people. It wouldn't be so unmistakable if they had at least owned up to the fact that the place hasn't been renovated or deep cleaned in 20 years and that the games are really low budget (but the football game is one good one)and not new or oldie goldies even. One reviewer says they are the "latest" and that the place was so clean. Huge lie! My family wanted to go out for a fun evening of Go Kart riding and heard that they have a Thurs. special for unlimited Go Kart rides. Sounds like a good time waiting to happen, right? Wrong. Well, to offset the loss of income they perceive by giving unlimited rides they shut down most of their Go Karts (which are half way to the junk yard already) and only have maybe 8 single cars and 2 double cars. This creates a much longer wait time so less gas used for them. This obvious way of recouping money was somewhat annoying when we could see more than half of their cars just parked on the side of the track not being used. But we just continued to try to have fun and focus on that. Then the Go Kart attendant obviously seemed annoyed to be working and anything above giving the green light to go and buckling you in was a major annoyance to him. Such as if you got stuck on the track or had a car problem. If he had to do anything to help you in those areas he gave you a warning because it was, in his opinion, irresponsible of you. My son was being bumped by a trouble maker on the track on our very first go around. Then the boy cut my son off at one of the early turns. This caused them both to get stuck. Well, Mr. Unhappy Attendent came out and kicked them both out. The rest of the famly was riding at the time so we didn't realize what was happening. When our son told us what happened afterward we assured him the attendant surely didn't mean he was totally kicked off for the night, just for that time. We looked for the other boy to talk about his behavior but he had left the area so we thought that the problem was solved since our son was not being mischevious.
Well, the attendant saw our son back in line and kicked him out. After trying to have a civil reasoning conversation with him it was obvious that he could care less. He accused our son of being a "liar" and said he was "watching him bump the whole time". This is an impossible claim since the other boy was the one bumping on purpose and trying to cut off which he eventually did and the attendant cannot possible watch the whole way since it is a winding track behind shrubs and hilly as well. When we appealed to the manager he also could care less. Even when faced with losing our patronage he simply responded with previously rehearsed answers with no emotion, he simply was just not interested in the least of making any concession. There are no refunds and if the attendant deems you "reckless" you are at his mercy (of which there is none). Our night was ruined of course because we could not enjoy riding while our son could not, especially with the magnitude of the injustice of the claims and the lack of integrity on all levels. The bottom line is the employee want to do as little work as possible and you will pay for it if you have any special circumstances even if they are not your fault. There is tons of bumping and they don't seem to be bothered by it until they have to move and help fix it. So, on our way out of this dive we realized we had our tokens left and we better use them since we wouldn't be coming back. So we started playing some games. It did help to take the edge off our sadness and frustration but then the management made an announcement that it was now closing (it was 9pm) and then the electricity was immediately cut off and we were left in near darkness. To add insult to injury, we didn't even get to use our tokens up! Ugh! We couldn't get out of their fast enough and on our way out we met another boy who was quite nice that we met while we were riding in the beginning and he told us he was kicked out too when someone bumped him and made his car have trouble. I am sorry to say that I believe we are one of many, not one of a kind in this matter. I refuse support a business like this who obviously is out just to squeeze their customers and don't care about service or reputation. There is another new Go Kart place in Greensboro and one at Concord Mills in Charlotte the next time we get a yen for Go Kart racing. I hope this spares someone from having to be disappointed as we were.
Do not waste your money on a birthday party at Celebration Station! The ultimate party includes unlimited go carts and bumper boats however they do not tell you that you will have to stand in line for 1 hour to ride 1 time. The service was terrible, the employees were extremely rude, and the go carts were so old they would not make it up the hill at the start of the track. Apparently one of the kids in our birthday party shrunk and was not allowed to ride the go carts on our second time. To sum it up this place should be condemned.
My son was with a group of 5 boys at a birthday party. He measured EXACTLY 56" at the yardstick at the entrance to the go-karts. All of the boys rode and had a great time - although there was only one VERY slow young man running the go-karts and it took forever in line - and most of the karts were broken down too. When he finally made his way back for his second ride, the new worker would not allow him to ride - telling him he was too short. I went to get the manager who informed us -in front of a large crowd - that my son had "probably been too short all afternoon." He was humiliated and embarassed - they ruined our family's day and the young man's 11th birthday party. Instead of addressing our concerns and my son being hurt, she went to reprimand the young man who had initially let him on the karts. The service was TERRIBLE and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I have filed a complaint on their website, but if their corporate management is anything like the staff in Greensboro - I probably won't even get a response! For the record - I re-measured him at home - he was STILL exactly the required height.
