Wet 'N Wild Emerald Pointe Water Park
\"America's most exhilarating water park,\" this is the largest waterpark in the Carolinas with over 35 rides and attractions on site including drop slides, enclosed slides, tube rides, two children's areas, and a drifting lazy river.
I just want to add some feedback about a few of the bad reviews & add my review. First of all I read someone talking about there being too much walking. UMM that makes no sense. It isn't like you're just walking for no reason with no rides in between. Theres a lot to do at the park. What GOOD theme park do you know that doesn't include walking? lol. Anyway I also read that the park was dirty. I didn't find it unnaturally dirty & I didn't smell any urine either. Maybe your swimsuits smelled bad to begin with :-). There is a small area for kids but I also find like other reviews that most small Children are over it after a hour or so. I think its HILARIOUS that people give bad reviews for the park because they were scared on a ride. I think that nonsense pretty much explains itself. Oh and last, the lifeguards hitting on people? That one shocked me. Everytime I see a life guard their eyes are scanning the pool. Maybe people have the lifeguards confused with those people holding the height stick when people enter the rides. LOL! Ask them the time & they'll tell you lol. Anyway tho I think some things are common sense & some people blame unnecessary things on the park rather than take personal responsibilty for their snobby & close minded ways.
I just went this past Sunday & I was in the wave pool. A wave came & it swept all over the place, it threw me off for a sec but I was fine. I looked up and the lifeguard was eyeing me down. She threw her thumbs up as to ask me if I was ok. I should my head "Yes" and she nodded & continued to scan the area. I felt SAFE. I have a season pass to Emerald Pointe & i've been going since I was a child & i'm 25 now. The park isn't perfect but none is. I would recommend Emerald Pointe to anyone & I would recommend season passes rather then individual visit tickets. I can't tell you how many people i've met just hanging out in the Wave Pool. My mom seems to find a new friend everytime she goes & she's in her 50s. The lines are long on weekends but HELLO its the weekend, of course the lines are long when you're a great place to be. But there are plenty of rides to keep you occupied. My favorite slide is the Twin Twisters & the Dragons Den. They're so much fun. Plus the wave pool NEVER gets old.
The only complaints I would have for the park is the price of Individual Day Tickets is a little steep. They close way too early. I mean 6pm? I remember back in the day the park was open a little longer. And the after 4 deal is a rip off. Who wants to pay 20 something bucks to stay for 2 hours.
My family and i went in 2008 and the ride with the black tubes was HORRIBLE i thought i was dying!!! Then we witnesses an employee take a pizza from a man who had already sat down with it and put it back in the oven for someone else. Yes someone else got the pizza after i told them they should throw it away. I told the lady i wanted a fresh pizza out of the oven and witnessed people cursing about it, and spitting on my pizza!!! Yes you have it right!!! I would take my own food from home so that you are safe. I talked to management and they refunded but the person is still employed until the Health dept gets there!!! We got rained out twice and then the second time they issued rain checks but you can only use them Mon-fri and only after 4 pm and they close at 6 what good is it. I have to also agree with other posters the life guards were to busy checking out the other men and women and getting phone numbers!!
first thing you should do is buy a season pass me and my freinds all have one and we can go anytime we want to, like today i went for like the 20th time this summer with my youth pastor and like 5 of my friends the first time you go you should ride all the rides so you can get that out of the way, all we do now is just chill by the wave pool and we rarely ride any rides now because we have our eyes on all the beeutiful women and we all ways see other people that we know and have an awesome time i reccomend the to every body
Dont listen to people when they say its bad there wrong I loved all the rides I would recommened E merald Pointe to everyone so take your kids or friends to Emerald Pointe as soon as possibly and your be cool
The new ride with the dragon almost killed my mom and me. We went last summer with a youth group from church. We normally love the park, but we decided to try the new ride with the dragon. We went down the chute into the bowl and our raft got stuck on the edge of the slide down. We had water gushing at our faces at extreme speed and we actually thought we would drown. Several riders came down after us and tried to help. The park employees not only were not trying to help us, they were even laughing at us when we finally managed to free ourselves and get off the ridge. The employees running the ride (all males - looked to be under 20) were too occupied with all the teenage girls running around to pay attention to their job, which they're actually paid to do. I may go back to the park in the future, but will NEVER get on this water ride again.
Wet 'n Wild has some of the friendliest people in the world! Everything is geared toward fun and safety. Don't worry, be happy! Parking and lockers cost extra. Bring a cooler and eat just outside the gate with a handstamp.
We had a good time at the park, but the employees are very unfriendly. The lifeguards looked to be about average age of 18. There were alot of employees around but not a single one was helpful or overly helpful. I quess when you come home from Disney (where all the employees treat you like a valued customer) and go to a water park you are shocked by how the customer service is. Also if your child is not 45 inches they can not get on most of the slides. We had fun but was not impressed with the customer service.
