Rose Creek Mine Rock & Gift Shop, Franklin

we went for my daughters 9th b-day and stayed on the flume for about 4 hours. we had a blast. every time there was a splash of mud we laughed. we each walked away with a bag full of treasures and lots of dirt. it was so much fun i drove my kids crazy wanting to stay. the people there are very nice and they know their stuff when it comes to rocks. you have to go even if its just a one tank trip day.

Tom, Sean, and the kids were GREAT! My family and I have been going to North Carolina to rock hunt a few times a year for a couple of years now, and we always make time for Rose Creek. Really enjoyed ourselves. Got some real nice pieces and having some one sit down after your finished to go thru the gems to ID, bag, and tag them was great. If you are in the area this is one spot you need to stop by. (From lost the keys in the trunk Duane. )

We were dirty, we were wet, we were cold, and we had a blast!! This is a great experience for all ages. We all found a good variety of items, including a nice size sapphire, a ruby worthy of cutting, and even a fragment of old indian pottery. We attended three of the area mines in our week long venture and Rose Creek Mine is by far our favorite. The owners were very friendly and quite helpful. We felt more like old friends in for a visit more than tourists hoping to strike it rich. We would recommend a trip to Rose Creek Mine to anyone. It's well worth checking out if you are even close to the area. Our trip was educational, affordable, enjoyable, interesting, and most of all FUN! The kids were planning our return trip before we finished driving home from this one. What's that tell ya? They loved it, and are now self proclaimed "rock hounds".

Best time we had getting our hands dirty. Found lots of quartz. Kids loved it! Been twice, can't wait to go back!

We took our grandchildren there this summer and camped out in the Rose Creek Campground. We could walk across the field to the mine. Tom and Linda and family are the nicest people you would want to know. They were friendly, helpful and even put up with our small dog that thought the place was his. They fed and watered him and gave everyone along the flume line a frozen ice pop in the heat of the day. We've been to several of the other mines and this one is the best. The grandkids had a great time and found all kinds of rocks. It was a great learning experience.
