Chunky Gal Stables, Hayesville

We did the 1 hour ride with our 5 and 7 year old daughters. The 5 year old rode with dad, and the 7 year old was on her own horse for the very first time. The horses that the owner picked out for all of us were calm and knew they had rookies on board. Our guide (the owner) put everyone at ease and was a gracious host. The girls, along with mom and dad, loved the ride up the mountain to the waterfall. If we find ourselves back in the Franklin, NC area, we'll definitely go back to Chunky Gal Stables.

I have been to Chunky Gal twice and have had a wonderful experience both times. My husband and I took my 20 and 23 year old daughters last year and enjoyed our ride and the beautiful mountain scenery so much that when we had company this year we insisted they would love it as much, and they did. The owner, Rob, took us both times and he is so nice and laid back. The horses are very well mannered so even a first timer would feel comfortable. We will be seeing you again Rob when the leaves turn!

My husband and I, throughly enjoyed our trail ride through the beautiful NC mountains. Rob was a great guide and extremely attentive to all the riders on our trip, the majority of whom had never ridden before. He was calm and relaxed, and laughed at all the jokes that were made even though he must have heard them a million times before. We will definately be going back to Chunky Gal Stables next time we are in NC and definitely recommend them .

It was a perfect horse ride in beautiful scenery with a wonderful guide. We will absolutely make it a point to come here again if we are in the area. Went with my husband, 14 year old daughter and 10 year old son. The three of them have only rode horses a few times but felt very comfortable and safe while at the same time like they were on an adventure. Thanks Rob.

This is our second trip to Chunky Gal. Took a trail ride in the summer and this time my 7 yr old daughter had a private riding lesson with Rob. He took his time and thouroughly explained every step of the process from cleaning the hooves to how to put on a saddle and reigns. My daughter takes weekly lessons back in Ohio but they are nothing like the professional treatment that she got from Rob. He is so polite and genuine. And what a beautiful view this stables give. They are nestled down in the valley surronded by montains. My parents have a place in Murphy N.C. and we visit 2-3 times a year and we will be stopping at Chunky Gal EVERY TIME NOW.

This was my second ride, and WHAT a Ride it Was!! We rode through the mountains, swamps, a forest fire, saw wild boars, It was the ride of a Lifetime for this second time ever on a Horse rider!! Our guide and his faithful dog were SO in control of every situation, our group of four was at ease and always felt comfortable the entire time. We got snagged by bushes, and were on narrow trails through the woods. I felt that we had gone back into time and were blazing a trail through the primal woods from yesteryears. I have recommended Chunky Gal Stables to ALL my friends to visit, It was truly the ride of a life time!

My husband's family owns property in Franklin. EVERY SINGLE TIME we visit (approx 2/year) we take a ride with Chunky Gal Stables. The guides are ALWAYS polite, friendly and accomidating. We have never had an ounce of trouble from the horses or dogs either. ANYONE who wants to ride a horse should visit Chunky Gal Stables!

Our family has a reunion each year between Christmas and New Year. We took a group of 10 to Chunky Gal and had a great time! I was on Flash in the rear and he was just a joy! He has his own little personality. The guide was great - made sure we had a wonderful time. We'll go back next year.

My wife and I haven't riden' in years. They made our ride very comfortable. The veiw from ole Flash was from behind the other horses. He seemed to be last! But I love em! My wife said the ride made our trip worth while. I agree. Chico was my wife's horse, she said he was the best horse there... I disagree,... Flash was! The trails were beautiful, we loved the dog, would of liked to gallop a little bit but, what the heck! We trotted! . :-) Thanks from Joey & Kathy, St. Marys, GA.
