Started out bad
By ,
Just checked in, reserved smoking room on casinos website but when we got here they said there were no smoking rooms. Rooms are assigned first come first serve and at our checking time (4:00)nothing smoking left in casino! We booked here because their website indicated smoking rooms. Manager was no help, no, comp, no discount for room. Said they often run out of smoking rooms early in the afternoon and they are working on more room , but she didn't have any idea when that would be available. Then requested room as close to smoking as possible, they put me on the 15 th floor. We must have walked a mile across the property to get to the elevators to finally get to our room. Not starting out good.

SO SO

The casino does not have live dealers and no Roulette table. I found it to be quite a boring place if you are not into playing the slots. They now serve liquor!!! The Paula Deans Kitchen was awful!!! The food was nothing special. I ordered a steak MR and got it served MW. The web site recommended reservations which I made the day before. I don't know what the hostess' problem was but when we walked up to her and told her we had a reservation she got really sarcastic and then had us taken to a small table right next to another couple when there were quite a few window booths available which remained empty the whole time we were there. We noticed that she seated a single diner in one of the booths. Hopefully when the 2 new restaurants that are supposed to be opening in 2012 will be better managed.

One of the Very Best
By ,
We go over to the casino about 4 times a year. Only take what we can afford to spend. It is not as large as some of the other casinos we go to but the rooms are always sparkling clean and the staff there go out of their way to be friendly and nice. I prefer black jack and card games with actual cards but when I go there I limit my playing to slots. All in all a great experience ... we get some comps ... the food is always good no matter where you eat. It is only 1 and 1/2 hours drive from our house. Will definitely continue to go there.

It was ok for a quick evening of slots
By ,
I liked that it was close to where we were staying, which was in Bryson City, NC. There were A LOT of slot machines so even on a Saturday night you could still find open machines. I DID NOT like that they don't serve alcohol which ultimately might have convinced me to spend more after losing a little less than $100 but oh well. Had a nice dinner in their fine dining restaurant which is located in the hotel right next door...can't remember the name of it. We'll probably go back just because it's so close to Atlanta and we love the mountains but neither of us really goes out of our way for gambling. It was worth it for the experience since my husband and I have never been to a casino together before so it was fun for that fact alone if nothing else.

not my type of casino
By ,
I have visited SEVERAL casinos in the southeast and in Vegas. This was the WORST I have gambled at. The blackjack tables are digital whih means no cards. They keep track of every bet you make on the slots b/c you have to have a card to play them. Was not impressed at all, sorry I drove 2 hrs out of my way to go there.

HARRAHS CHEROKEE IS THE BEST
By ,
the best thing about going to harrahs is the large variety of games to play. $100.00 will last you 6-12 hours. Its so much fun you lose track of time.each time i go, i get there around 7pm. The next thing i know its 2am. Its so exciting you never get tired. The slot machines are the best, and give you the most fun for your time.you will get lucky sooner or later. Just set your limits before you go and stick to it.
