Edge of the World, Banner Elk

My family was on vacation and this was definitely one of the highlights. Starting as soon as we pulled up in our car, the staff was hilarious! We all laughed until our sides hurt! The only rafting company that gives you a yummy lunch and allows you to repeat the ride of the roughest rapid, Edge of the World delivers on their promise of fun, family entertainment! I would HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone (except people who have no sense of humor).

I can't say enough about how great these guys. we took my mother Inlaw with us for vaction and were a bit worried about her being safe at the age of 76! These guys made us feel so safe and gave special attention to my moth Inlaws safety duing the whole rafting trip. My mother Inlaw said at the end of the day " It was the MOST fun she had in all her years" Thank you so much we'll be back next July Jeff & Family

Steve and Aaron were the guides (entertainers) on our bus and they kept us laughing all the way to the river and back. The bus ride was at least 45 minutes each way too! My kids who are 12 and 9 were 100% engaged by Aaron and Steve's comedy routine/variety show. It was awesome! Edge of the World was a little more expensive than some of the other white water rafting companies but the entertainment and delicious food made it worth every penny!

What an incredible experience! From the moment we stepped through the doors the adventure began. The energy level of the guides was infectious and started upon signing the waiver! The bus ride is long but very entertaining. Jokes about everything from you to the landmarks along the way kept everyone in stitches. Once at the river, we were given the option of going with or without a guide. We chose to go without and still were in sight of the guides and all their hijinx. After being in the water for a short while, we pulled off for lunch. The signature trail mix was the starter and the best I've ever had! Following the mix was the honey biscuits, fried chicken breast, lemonade and cookie bars. No one left hungry. The food was phenomenal. There are no plates, napkins, etc. All finger food but it is so tastey that it doesn't matter. You will have a chance to go down the Class three rapid as many times as you like. They take pictures and the pics are waiting for you when you return to the store. We hope to make this a once a year event when we visit Boone, NC! Lots of fun and very entertaining.

As if the rafting trip wasn't a blast-we have been on many! The lunch of honey rolls, fried chicken, granola, and lemonade was to die for but, the best part is the bus ride to and from the rafting. What an awesome group of young men who entertained the whole time, my face hurt from laughing! Take your family, great trip!

We went with a group of 7 on Aug 8, 2007. The ages varried from 4 to 68. The bus ride was long but fun. The guides tell jokes the entire way. The bus joined in on the fun. The water is VERY cold and you will get soaking wet so there isn't much you can do to prevent it. My feet were the worst. Only one rapid was a little scary, but our 4 year old daughter held on tight. Lunch was good and homemade. Bathrooms are scarce so go when you can. We had a fantastic time and would recommend the guys at Edge of the World anytime.

We took a group of kids and adults on June 11th, 2007 on a rafting trip on the Watauga River. I enthusiastically recommend Edge of the World for a rafting treat. The guides were knowledgeable but just as importantly the guides made the entire trip FUN. Anyone who has worked with kids realizes that you have to either keep them entertained or interested to avoid boredom. Edge of the World does both through out the trip. The guides are well prepared with ponchos and weatherproof sweaters to keep you warm. The food was good. I did not have any concerns regarding safety. The guides were thoroughly prepared for the trip. The water is COLD so be aware. You WILL get wet. I suggest you wear sandals. It�s much easier getting out of the raft than it is to get back into the raft. Be blessed, have fun. Mark

Edge of the world has an amazing atmosphere. Everyone is so cool and chill. It has everything you would ever need. Snowboard gear, clothes, boards, whitewater rafting trips, kayayking trips, cool events.
