7 reviews for Yaddo Gardens
beautiful and peaceful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
My sister and I visited Yaddo in June 2007. She lives in the area and had never been. We were about a week or two early for all the roses to be at peak bloom, but those that were flowering were lovely. The stream and waterfall weren't flowing in the rock gardens, but it's still beautiful, surrounded by peonies in full bloom. I wish we were allowed to tour that house! Maybe those in charge could take note and open it and the grounds up! This is obviously not the place for those addicted to TV and computers - it's peaceful and romantic, wonderful for photgraphers and artists.

Yesteryear of Yaddo (the 60's I mean!)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/06
I grew up in Saratoga and would go to Yaddo on a frequent basis. Overall, it is a beautiful place with a great deal of history. My recent visit (2005) the gardens were just coming to life but a big disappointment was that you could no longer walk along old roads that circled the main house (when I was a kid back in the 60's you were allowed everywhere including the grave sites of the Trask family). As far as the comment about the naked people, maybe they were just left over from the 60's!!!! I don't know what that one person was expecting when he said the gardens were small and only took 5 min. to view. You have to know the history of Yaddo to appreciate it. It isn't the Biltmore by any means! Just a small place with alot of history!!

Peace amid chaos
By Neal, 07/29/05
Yaddo is a beautiful and peaceful switch from the exremely busy race course not more than a few hundred yards away. I would urge anyone who visits the race course to visit the gardens for a more diverse expierence of what Saratoga Springs has to offer.

Not so impressed with little Yaddo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/05
A small rose garden for visitors to visit. At the right time, the garden is pretty to visit for about 5 minutes. It is located on property that is mostly excluded from the public.
