Hampton Coffee Company, Southampton

I find this coffee house highly overrated. Sure it's local and all that jazz; but when the service isn't up to par, does that matter? You might as well go to The Golden Pear or even Starbucks. Walking into the Watermill/Southampton location with high expectations, I sadly left with a frustrated frown. With the prices seemingly high, I had hoped for a homemade breakfast that would have me coming back. Working in a resturant chef line for over 10 years, I was definitely not impressed. Getting my bill after my 'quick-and-easy' breakfast, I noticed the waitress accidently charged me twice for my meal. Pointing it out, she happily went back to changed it. Receiving my bill once more.. she oddly didn't fix it...It had the same total. Showing her once again, she then returned with the manager, and had a loud enough conversation with him in the next room for all of us to hear. She seemed extremely flustered for a simple mistake, saying she had other tables to wait on. Working in a restaurant myself, I know it's important to personally assist all your customers. She quickly dismissed me with a very high attitude, when the problem was very simple. The manager also didn't seem affected by her rude air, which left a bad taste in my mouth. In the end, the latte was very good. Thats about it. Go for coffee. The management, waitstaff, and food is not worth spending your money on.
