I booked the Thursday night fireworks cruise on the Horicon July 21st for myself and my wife and son. . The weather was very warm and it shoud have been a nice night to be on the lake. We were towards the front of the line boarding the ship. After getting on the boat we were told we could not access the top deck as it was already at full capacity of 25 people. We were probably about 30th in line. The boat was so full we could not even retreat to a different spot as all the other places on the boat filled in behind usand when I say filled in I mean I felt like a sardine (Really - no exageration!). We were stuck in the back above the engine. The diesel fumes were very strong so we finally decided to move to the only other open spot on the boat which was not over crowded which was inside the cabin. The cabin was extremely hot, not all of the windows open. We ended up watching the fireworks from inside the cabin bent over so we could look out a window - the explosions were muffled due to the solid glass window pane.
I wanted to get off this boat from the minute I got on it! I love going on boat cruises and have been on many and have never had an experience like this before. This shold have been another good time however the company that owns the Horicon oversold the ship which caused the overcrowding. I talked to other passengers who were complaining of the same things.
The Adirondac has got to be one of the most beautiful boats I have ever been on! When you combine that with the Lake George views and the BEST dinner buffet I have ever had (most other ones I've been on sucked...this one was absolutely delicious!) it was an amazing experience. It is without a doubt my favorite summertime activity and something I have to do at least 3 times a season. Definitely not an opportunity you want to miss!
We attended a wedding aboard the Adirondac in July and had a wonderful time. Having been to numerous weddings of friends and family I was so glad that everything was perfect. There was plenty to eat and everything was delicious! I asked the captain more questions than I'm sure he wanted, but he was wonderful and his knowledge of Lake George was first-rate! We would definately go back and wish the Adirondac was around when our daughter was married in 2001!
I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to bring all my friends back. We went on the Adirondac for their Fireworks Dinner Cruise! The prime rib was fantastic and the boat is beautiful! We went to King Neptune's Pub the next day and they had an awesome band....we'll definately be back.
It is beautiful. We had the best time. The cruise was awesome. We did a lunch cruise and the mountains and mansions were amazing, it was a perfect day. I am a history buff and ghost hunter so going to the battlefield and Fort Henry were awesome. Took lots of pics. It was a great mini vacation. Looking forward to going back next year.
Had a spectacular time on Lake George's newest cruise ship, the Adirondac! We went on Shoreline's Dinner Cruise last summer and can't wait to do it again--great food, really nice management and staff! Highly reccomend!
