Not impressed
By Guy, 06/16/08
Went on the luncheon cruise on the lac du Sainte Sacrament. Didn't purchase the lunch option, after spending a few days in Lake George I was doubtful that it would be worth the extra money. Was hoping to hear a good narrative on the history etc of the lake. What I got was a few blurbs about some of the homes..maybe 15minutes, out of a 2 hr cruise. Such a beautiful lake, a lot of history and it seems the tourism operators just don't care about the consumers experience. Its quite obvious that the dollar is their only focus. After reading some of the other reviews, perhaps it was just this luncheon cruise..Was just expecting so much more, I live only a few hrs from here and feel that they could have expounded so much more on the history etc of the lake George area.

Fun Relaxing Tour
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/07
Beautiful, fun and relaxing boat ride/cruise along the Lake. Took some great photos! The captain was the tour guide, which made it interesting to hear the history behind Lake George. Next time I will try out the lunch or dinner cruises ;)

Fine for a day cruise - but awful for group sales
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/12/07
I have enjoyed many day cruises aboard the MinnieHaHa, Lake George is a beautiful area and the steamboat rides take you along a pleasant trip around the lake. My fiancé and I planned to be married in the fall, we love the mountains and I have always wanted to be married on a lake so we decided to how our wedding aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrament. Things started out OK, the price seemed great and the woman we spoke with was personable, until we got into planning. The woman who handles weddings and group sales is very unreliable, it often took 3 or 4 emails, phone calls etc. before I got a response. If she said she would send me some information, it usually took several reminder calls/emails before I got it. The bar fees were exorbitant, they were 30%-50% higher than other venues in the area. To have a semi-private, shared buffet wedding with open bar would have cost more than my sister spent on a 5 course, sit-down, private wedding with open bar at Glen Sanders Mansion. For that kind of cost I would expect impeccable service, attention to detail and at the very least a response to emails or calls. When we were at 3 months left until the wedding I asked the coordinator for timeline of events, I needed this information for invitations and programs - she told me "your wedding is so far away you really don't need this yet, but I will send it to you anyway" 3 months is too far away???? Invites go out 2 months before the wedding and time is needed for printing. After 3 weeks I had still not received the information she promised. Between the excessive cost for a semi-private wedding and the actions of the "wedding coordinator" I had had enough and we changed our wedding location to Beardslee Castle (who have been incredible!) I called the steamboat company to tell them we had decided to have the wedding elsewhere and all the coordinator said was "OK" she didn't ask why, or seem to even care in the least. I am very happy to be done with those people and doubt I will ever board one of their boats again.

Rain Rain Go Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
We had a wonderful trip on the Minne Ha Ha. We recieved a discount on our tickets by showing our AAA membership card. The trip was very enjoyable and exactly what we hoped for. Lots to see during the ride, beautiful homes, the great shorelines and hills and mountains around the town. We would definately go back and take the dinner cruise or the fireworks cruise. The pictures at the end are a little expensive, but not too bad for 5x7 for 10 dollars. Parking is $5.00 wasn't expecting that. Overall a great time!

"Fantastic"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/06
We booked our dinner cruise on the Lac du Saint Sacrement....What a wonderful experience. The service was great, good food and drinks...And the entertainment was terrific. The decor of the ship was just beautiful and it was neat and clean. The sunset over the mountains was breathtaking. This cruise is terrific for all. (young or old)....

Great Cruise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
Great cruise on the Lac du Saint Sacrement. It was the lunch buffet cruise. We were ushered to a beautiful table for two with a window view. The dining room was air conditioned and very elegant for a lake cruise. There was live entertainment and very good for dancing or just listening. They even gave away a gift certificate for dinner as winners of a dance contest. The food was great. Salad, chicken dish, fish dish, potato salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, ham and roast beef carved for you, soup, and dessert(warm apple dumpling with whipped cream, coffee, breads and condiments for making sandwiches. You could board up to 1 hour ahead of the actual cruise and eat, the cruise itself was 2 hours with some narration along the way. I would definitely do it again and try the other boats. A great value for $28/pp.

Kids love the Minnie Ha Ha
By Peter C, 03/07/06
We love our annual trip to LG and the ride on the Steamboat. My kids look forward to hearing about the lake and seeing the mountains surrounding it. Not to mention the novelty of the paddle wheel and seeing the egine room and how it works.
