Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Ithaca

The concert I went to had two local soloists who were excellent. The performance space was a beautiful church (though with a bit too much echo, like so many churches) and everyone around me seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was just a coincidence that I happened to be visiting the same weekend of this concert. I noticed that the season wasn't very extensive which is unfortunate. The chances of a visitor coming on one of the few weekends this ensemble is performing aren't very likely unless one specifically makes plans around their schedule. It would be worth it though - the music was on a very high level which might surprise some people since it's such a relatively small town.
