Into wildlife ? - must visit
By Al S, 03/15/08
This place is excellent - if you are in to wildlife , but especially birdwatching. Theres a 7 mile drive tour , but you need to take the 1.75 walk at the 1/2 way mark. I visited around midday in mid-March - not the best time for birding. Still saw N Flicker , peregrine, N harriers , Ibis , lots of ducks and grebes, and a few waders The staff at the centre are very helpful too. A pint of Blue Moon at Farleys in Roswell completes the day.

Non-Alien Site
By Traveling Beauty, 08/10/07
This was one of the few places in Roswell that didn't make a reference to aliens. It's a beautiful place to see butterflies, lizards, and cranes. I would recommend this attraction to anyone who enjoys taking photos of wildlife or nature.

Wonderful!

We went looking for a geocache and discovered this beautiful place. This is in late May 2007, and the red-winged blackbirds were beautiful. We even saw two small owls about five feet from the road. We just got back to our hotel and are regrouping for an evening trip back there today...need to recharge the camera battery and empty the memory card. This will be a stop for us anytime we are back in the Roswell area.

Fantastic Voyage!!
By GEORGE, 10/31/05
Terrific area for bird watching.I'm from Indiana where the sandhill cranes rest enroute to this location. The eight mile drive was just right for a family outing. This is truely a one tank getaway. I'll be back (next time with appropriate hiking gear). Actually observed two hawks battling over a rabbit kill. A small bronze colored snake slithered across the road near the bathrooms. Wasps (?) were everywhere near the signs and bathrooms. It was just too neat to have a road runner scamper across the road and then climb a tree and pose for a pic.
