They Try There Best!
By Alexis, 03/27/09
Spring River Zoo is a nice zoo to visit. Me and my friends love to go there all the time to hang out and look at all the animals and ride all the rides. Most people say the zoo is dirty and they don't take care of the animals but they do. I have met all the people that work there and what they do. They take very good care of the animal and they try there best, but theres not many people there to help and remember its a free zoo. They only have the little bit of money they get out of the money they make with the rides and snacks they sell and the small donations they get. So I think Spring River Park Zoo is a very nice for a free zoo. =)

I FELT SO BAD!!!
By Mary B, 11/18/08
i don't understand how they let that happen to all those animals. They are so unhappy being in those little cages. The hawks had no room to fly and the eagles had a dirty water bucket on the ground. I'm from CA and my mom works at the San Diego zoo and they dont do that kind of stuff. And whats with the crow in that small cage, all he does all day is try to get out. Some one needs to step up and do something about this.

Sad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/08
The Spring River Zoo is a lovely place to sit and watch my children play and I liked the fact that it is free and has a variety of animals to see. The equiptment is wonderful, with the carousel and train rides. Unfortunately the zoo part is not well taken care of. The water is filthy in the pond and I have not seen it clean in all the many times I have been to the park. The animals need clean water in their bowls, The cages could use more shade to give them more protection from the elements.

Animals of Roswell Zoo!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
I went to visit a friend in Roswell and went to Spring River Zoo . I absolutely love animals. However, I left so depressed and haven't stopped talking about it. The animals seemed depressed, lonely, they were so dirty, there wasn't a soul around to take care of them and all I wanted to do was take all of them back home to NY. These animals, and all animals, need love and attention. A majority of the animals were completely alone. Not a very good day at the zoo, For anyone :(

Poor animals!
By , 05/12/08
My family and I were very upset after going to the Roswell zoo this weekend. We have been to other zoos in New Mexico and in the United States and we have never been so disappointed. This zoo needs many updates. The animals live in very small cages and they are surrounded by filthy water if there is even water in their cages. The snakes are cramped in small glass containers and their bodies are too big for the containers. I will not go back or promote this zoo unless the city provides a facility that can support the animals. The zoo does not charge a fee, but a small fee might be a solution because the money can go towards updates. If the zoo cannot change the conditions of the animals, I hope the animals are placed in another facility that can provide adequate space, food, and water.
