Red River Ski and Snowboard Area
Located in the center of town, the Red River Ski and Snowboard Area averages about 18 feet of snow each year and is the perfect place for skiing and snowboarding. Ski and snowboarding lift tickets, rentals, and lessons are available.
There are only 6 out of 57 trails open. Bought lift tickets in advance, and now they will not give any kind of a refund. The lady in the office said you shouldn't buy lift tickets in advance, so it's my fault! Every day they tell you not to worry, more trails and lifts will be open tomorrow, but that never happened. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Even ski shops in town will recommend going to another resort. There are a lot of unhappy people here.
Uncrowded slopes and great scenery for a wonderful price

The slopes at red river are comprable to any in colorado. The snow does get icy in spots but they make their own snow in between snow storms. There are many different ways down the mountain and the longest ones can take you up to 20 minutes to get down. The lifts are a little scary and outdated but not by any means unsafe. They are also a little slow.
As for the town, most business close early (before 8pm) but if you make it to them while they are open, you can have a lot of fun. There are many great unique little places to eat also. It is a small town nestled in between the mountains and makes for one of the best ski towns in the nation.
I have been skiing here for 4 years now and it is BEAUTIFUL! As you enter Red River you are surrounded by Enormous Beautiful Mountains. The people are very nice and helpful, and the ski trails are very well cut out and easy to follow. They have terrain for every type of rider from long beginner trails to steep blacks. (but stay away from the lower part of "Pasture ability". I fell and almost never stopped! Its extremely steep and always icy. But the only reason i gave the town of Red River a 4 instead of a 5 is only because of the lack of snow. It has enough to have fun...but not of the slopes are always open.
Well, I better get to sleep, because i am leaving tomorrow to make the 13 hour trip to Red River!!!!
Adios a todos! Hasta Luego.
RedRiver is absolutly BEAUTIFUL!!!! It is very relaxing and a really enjoyable place to be. I feel so at home when I'm there. The people are really welcoming and inviting. I found inner piece and confort in Redriver. I didnt even want to leave and cant wait to return. I tell everyone they need to to atleast visit one time, just once is all you'll need to want to go back!!! I love it.
