Queen Mary at Spikes Fishery, Point Pleasant

The staff of the Queen Mary out of Point Pleasant, was excellent! My 9 yer old son had the best time talking with the deckhands and learning how to bait and fish for Fluke. He caught one keeper and one throwback. We both can't wait to go back! Thanks Captain Dave and Staff!

This was our 1st fishing trip on a boat, but the crew made it very easy for us. They were extremely helpful and hardworking. They gave us proper instructions/tips and rushed the moment hooks were tangled up, The boat was kept clean too. For someone like us who had no luck with fishing quite some time, we caught 8 ~ 9 pretty good size fishes. The boat was somewhat crowded, but it doesn't matter, as everyone caught plenty.

My boyfriend and I found the charter online. We went on a Friday to fish on Queen Mary. We have been on other charters before, the charter boat Queen Mary was by far the best. The captain and crew were fabulous, they helped with everything and anything you needed while fishing. The captain did not hesitate to go where the fish were running, we both caught three to four fish in just hours. The boat was very clean, and roomy. we will absolutely be returning to fish on Queen Mary!

Great crew, great boat. Great fun and fishing for beginners or experts, great for families. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a day out fishing. We won't fish with anyone else.

Can't beat the amazing weather this year Memorial Day weekend... Especially if you were out fishing on the ocean! The highlight of our weekend this year was the fishing aboard the Queen Mary. The boat is top notch, the crew helpful and the Captain hands-on. We caught plenty of fish, enjoyed the sun and sailing, and had way more fun than any day sitting on the beach. If you're coming to Point Pleasant Beach, give fishing aboard the Queen Mary a try - you won't be disappointed!

My son turned 10 today and for his birthday he wanted to go fishing. He never went fishing off a boat and I was a little hesitant about going for blues. I thought he wouldn't be able to handle it...Boy was I wrong. We had the greatest time, he caught 12 blues, he fit right in with "seasoned" fishermen yelling "fish on" every time he hooked one and "gaff" when he bought it up to the boat for the crew to hook. What a great birthday present. Thanks to the Captain and the crew for all their help. Captain Dave personally gave my son a lesson on how to handle the rod, thank you Captain Dave and the Queen Mary crew. We can't wait to go again for blues and taking the whole family out for a family fun day. It was a great fishing experience, boat was clean and even better kept clean through out the day.

Several people who have submitted reviews with a single star may have had higher expectations than most when it comes to fishing on a party boat. If you have NEVER done this, or never fished, there's a couple of things to realize There's NO guarantee you will catch fish. The boat will move often, especially when fishing is slow, so fish can be found. With the Groupon, or really any nice sunny and warm day, the boat will be crowded. This means: You wont have much elbow room AND fishing lines WILL get tangled. Now, the good news is that you are out on the warm on a (hopefully) beautiful day, and your little fishing excursion culminates with a nice evening watching the fireworks. We brought along our cooler for food and drink, including bottles of wine. The boat, overall, caught about 6 fish. It was a slow fishing day, but weather was nice. My gf caught a black seabass which the crew promptly fileted after fishing ended. I found the crew to be extremely patient and instructional for those who needed it. I tipped appropriately, and as mentioned, settled in with some wine and enjoyed the fireworks. The best tip I can offer is that you get to the boat EARLY so you get a seat for yourself and your cooler! Many people came on very late and had to squeeze into spots and if they had multiple members in their party, it's difficult to find a spot together. On my trip, the front of the boat got most of the action. Most fisherman believe that even a day without catching fish is a better day that being on shore. If you are easily bored, don't go, or just bring an ipod, a comfortable cushion and enjoy the sun and waves. Hope this helps, and I wouldn't hesitate to do this again. It's a great price, especially with the Groupon.

Liked the crew. Were very helpful and friendly. My 7 year old son was able to catch his first fish ever. Didn't catch any keepers, but that is not the crew's fault. Weather was unfriendly that day and the seas liked to roll.

We took our family of 8 out on the fishing / fireworks trip and everyone had a great time. The crew was very attentive and answered all the questions from my grandchildren ( no matter how silly) they were right there when ever the kids or us caught a fish to help out. Everyone caught fish, the kids as well as the adults had a great time. The fireworks were an excellent end to a great day. We came home with lots of great picture and memories. I would highly recommend this trip for families, it was just a perfect day.

What an incredible day on the Queen Mary!!! Capt. Dave and his crew can't be thanked enough for the hard work they did! My family and I went fishing in August and had a blast. His mates did an excellent job of making sure my children, ages 11 and 9 caught fish. The fact they had a blast meant more to me than anything all day!!! We have fished on other boats before and none of them paid attention to us like the Capt. and Crew of the Queen Mary. Can't wait for next year!!!
