Broken Hart Ranch, Gallatin Gateway

I arrived at the designated time to find out that my family would not all have horses but 2 of has had mules. Our family had booked this ride 2 weeks prior and some "locals" were allowed to add on at the last minute and took the last of the horses. I questioned this and was basically told "too bad" this is all there is. The mules were often kicking at each other through out the ride. The stirrups were not set correctly and this lead to intense leg pain and the ride was not enjoyable. Two trail guides started our adventure but within minutes of getting on the trail one guide was thrown from his horse with the horse running away down the hill. Only one guide went on with our group of 7 on a trail with tight switch backs that was difficult for beginners to manuever. Not worth the $400 it cost.

They took our party of 8 (3Kids & 5 Adults) out with one guide. Their horses were hard to control and had issues with each other. The "lead" has problems with his horse, so we had to lead the kids horses and manager ours at the same time. The trail they took us on was not good for kids or new riders, then the horses kept biting each other and then I was thrown off and my grandaughter as well. When owner was questioned about his horses, he just "went off" on us and offer us not a "Sorry" or medical attention. Anyway do not use them if you are a new rider or have kids, VERY BAD. Lucky it was me who was hurt and the kids, our trip could have ended worse then it did.

I went on a horse back hunting trip with Mr. Hart. It was the greatest trip I have ever taken. The game was plentiful. I shot a Buffalo, Bull Elk, and a nice Mule Deer. The accomadations were great as well as the food. I couldn't asked for anything better. The guides were the best as well as the cook. She put the world in my lunch bag. If you were hungery on this trip it's your own fault. The tent had wood heat. The guides were the ones that evan started your wood stove and chopped your wood for you. The mountain and veiws were amazing. Now to talk about the horses and mules. They were great. They seemed to like to be rode and work very hard for you. They are very well taken care of. If you get the chance to ride Gus tell him Steve says hi. I'm a 100% Service connected Veteran. I felt safe as if in my own home. Lee Hart is a GREAT OUTFITTER!!
