After two weeks of travel, we were in Billings on our last night in Montana. We decided to go to a "top shelf" restaurant. I had heard of The Granary during a previous business trip so we decided to go there.
Our initial impression was good. The atmosphere was wonderful, the server very knowledgeable and the service good. The menu had a variety of choices, so the decision was difficult. My wife chose the roast chicken and I settled on a salmon dish.
Her soup was very good as was my salad and the bread was excellent. The problems we encountered were: about half way through the salmon I found that it was nearly raw in the middle; the mixed vegetables served to my wife were a few carrot slices and a hunk of what appeared to be the main stalk of a broccoli plant inedible. We did not tell the server (it was not her fault) but did tell the hostess as we left.
