Dickerson Park Zoo

We have been to the zoo three times this year and the train and feeding the giraffes are my sons favorite part. All three times both of these were not open, even though we were there during the hours that they were suppose to be. We have been members for the past three years and this is the first time that we have been so disappointed, not sure we will renew our membership again, hard to explain to a little one that they are not open

The staff and personnel were very friendly and accomodationg. The animals and the park were spaced just right. Loved being able to interract with animals and feed. Our two grandsons loved the zoo and riding the train. The food was also good for a park invironment. Have highly recommended to friends and family.

We love coming to visit the zoo when we are in Spingfield. It is just the right size for families with young children. Interactive and well organized. Really kept their attention. Train was not as exciting didn't go anywhere around the zoo which was diappointing to the kids. All in all a great experience, and will go back.

But I agree. The otters were gone, and so was a couple of other animals due to construction and cleaning. My kids loved feeding the giraffes. that was the best. The food was good, but was so expensive. And the gift shop was far worse on prices. It is a great zoo, for being a smaller zoo. I would recommend to anyone with children.

I just went Job Shadowing there, and it was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to go back, just to visit! It's a great place. Everyone should visit!

The Dickerson Zoo is great! You can see everything in about 4 hours or so and not feel rushed at all. There is a great view to see ALL animals that are on display and we saw several babies. The absolute best experience is to feed the giraffes, most zoos don't let you do that...you buy the crackers for them from an attendant. Our local zoo in KC is good but you don't have the opportunity to see all of the animals due to the restrictions of the habitats that have built for them. Dickerson Zoo is set up so that you can see everything. I would absolutley recommend this zoo and we are planning to go again.

The zoo was really awesome!! My kids just loved it. Just needs some more places to rest every once in a while! But over all it's a AWESOME place!!!!!!!

I love Dickerson Park Zoo! It's a fun place to interact with the animals and see their abitats around them! And it's not so big like the one in St. Louis! It could use a little more animals but it's alright with me and my family! We come here every summer not only because we have coupons for it but because we enjoy coming here and having some fun like when the animals play and how we get to feed the giraffes! I think it's a great little place to sit back and relax! (and have the animals join you as well! :-)

I really love this zoo. Although it is very small, the attractions are great! They have a huge anaconda, big alligators, large male lion, and you get to feed the giraffes!! They also have a hippo and gorgeous lions. You don't have to walk too far and the landscape is great. I actually prefer this zoo, especially because it is small so I don't wear myself out!
