Second Baptist Church, Springfield

The church is easy to find in Springfield and has a very majestic but warm appearance. It has ample close parking. Though the size might at first be intimidating for smaller church goers, from the minute we walked in there was always someone nearby who was courteously available to direct us to our destination. The people were warm and friendly, but not overbearing, the music was spectacular (to include the orchestra, the choir, and the congregational singing). Though the congregation was large, I also noticed both Dr. Marshall and his wife taking time to speak to many of the people by name before the service began. The message/sermon was very down to earth and Dr. Marshall took great care to bring the congregation into the text and to relay its applicability to our personal lives. This church is the REAL thing, and if I lived closer, it would not just be my first choice of a church to get involved in, it would be the only choice. God is truly Alive, Central, and at work here!

I knew from the moment I walked in that this was going to be an amazing church. We were greeted sincerely and warmly. The choir and the orchestra are amazing beyond anyone's expectation. The pastor, John Marshall, is a teacher full of God's love and instruction. If you live in the Springfield area, why are you not going to church here? If you are from out of town and want to find a church service just for the weekend, you will never doubt that God is in that place!

The building is easy to find with lots of close parking. It is very comfortable and you have a good veiw from anywhere in the house. The orchestra was very talented and the music was inspiring. The message was great. A very good experience.

I really enjoyed it. I recommend it to anyone. Pastor John Marshall is a wonderful pastor and the choir was amazing. I don't know when I have been more blessed at a church service.

My experience at Second was outstanding. The worship was exciting yet sincere. I belong to another church in town but really enjoyed may visit at Second. If I attended a Baptist church Second would be my first choice.

I loved this place because they made me feel welcome.
