They let you bring your own beer! They won't let you bring your own coolers, but you can sneak them on I have before.

NEVER GO HERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/07
I really like the course layout, but today I parked my golf cart in front of the clubhouse to get my clubs off, and this old man came up and YELLED at me for being STUPID and not being able to read numbers, since I didn't put it back in the right slot. He was VERY rude, I have a college degree which involves numbers, so I think I can read them. He told me that I had ruined the game for everyone else. I really wanted to tell him off, but I just wanted away since it is a gentleman's game. Do not ever go here unless you want to feel terrible.

Okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/07
Course was torn up and greens were very dry...the fairways were somewhat greens, but it's fairly cheap, that's why I play there. Watch out on hole nine, don't hit cars!

Challenging But Fair
By Allen, 06/20/05
Oaks Hills sometimes gets a bad reputation among local golfers. Why? Most say because it is a "municipal course", but the real reason is because it's a challenging "old-school" course and they simply aren't up to it! Cut out of the scenic hills and woodlands of the Missouri River valley, this mature course does not play like most of the newer, flat, open, treeless courses in the area. Due to this, "course management strategy" and "target golf" are your key to success. It is a very fair course, but unforgiving to those who play "fast and loose" with the rules concerning out of bounds. The course is very scenic and the staff goes out of it's way to be of assistance. The new driving and practice areas are a great improvement. The real CHALLENGES are the "sloping" fairway on holes #5 and #11 resulting in shots where your feet are above/below the ball. Another challenge concerns holes with hidden targets due to hill-crests, etc. Pay special attention to the scorecard map though, and you'll do fine. It's a great course to hone your shotmaking skills, and the price can't be beat! Mature trees, good greens, lots of deer & geese, and fair yardages, what else could you ask for? Oh, and before teeing off on #7 look behind you and check out the spectacular view!

Oak Hills is a great course for the value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/04
I played Oak Hills and enjoyed it greatly it is not the longest course but still presents a challanging layout for all golfers. I have never played a course quite like it. lots of hill and unbalanced shot present a rough time for a golfer that is used to playing on on farm pastures that are turned into courses. it sets right in the middle of Jefferson City so its very bunched together giving forgivness on OB as you can play on the other holes. The clubhouse staff is great and very friendly.
