Highlight of the Hannibal Fall Festival
By Roy Baker, 10/19/09
Took the afternoon cruise on a chilly fall afternoon, and loved the scenery with all of the fall colors. Stayed up front for the first half (believe it when the captain says to cover your ears when they sound the horn for departure!!). Captain Terry keeps the passengers entertained with tales of the history of the river and the Hannibal area, many of them even true!! For the last half of the cruise, we retreated into the interior decks for the warmth and the comfortable tables and view. There is a bar on the lower deck, beer, wine, coffee, hot chocolate and popcorn were the hits on our cruise. Very reasonable prices compared to what I've come to expect in the DFW area. We had a great time and hope to go again the next time we're back in the Hannibal area.

Cruise: Nice - Food: well...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/28/09
Took the dinner cruise. Nice boat and views. Band was far to loud for small area and ambiance. Food was less than OK. For a combined price of $40 for the two of us, the food was sub-par. Didn't know dinner was a buffet, or that it was one trip only. Only got salad to start, went back to get meal and was told it was a one-pass buffet. But they did let me go through because they remembered I only got salad. There were leftovers but nobody was allowed to go back through. Beef and chicken were very dry, beef was tough as well. Dinner rolls appeared to be rationed because they actually had a person in the serving line placing one roll on a plate. Also, coffee was available (not at the buffet table) which we didn't know until after the dinner. When asked what you want to drink - water and tea are the only options. Soda drinks are available at the bar for $1.50 for 8 oz cup and 25 cents for refills. Save your money and take the cruise but eat somewhere else.

FUN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/09
My husband and I went to Hannibal for a weekend getaway. The riverboat cruise (afternoon) was one of the highlights of our trip. All the crew were wonderful and the captain very knowledgeable and funny. We sat all the way up top in the front. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We now wish we had taken the evening cruise.

Diesel Fumes response
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/08
In response to the person who complained about the diesel fumes--I work on another riverboat and there is NO way to get rid of or mask the diesel smell. My bet advice is to move somewhere else--like the front of the boat. The back of most riverboats is noisy because usually that is where the engines and generators are. Please, just enjoy the scenery.

A fun experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/5/07
We did the dinner cruise with a tour group and it was tour highlight. We were not expecting "prime rib" on the buffett so we were not disappointed as in one review, but the chicken and roast beef they served was very good as well as the veggie, baked potatoe and salads. The cup cake for dessert is a little...too little, but the boad was clean, the staff nice and boat ride was a good way to end the day.

Clean the boat
By Steve b, 10/18/07
Dirty, Dirty, Dirty, outside in the back you smell the diesel fumes for the whole cruise. @14.50 per person, not worth it. Close your eyes and imagine it, it would be better!

not bad
By Deej811, 9/5/07
got in town just in time for departure, nice slow ride on the river and the cap'n was very informative. Ask for the passport that gets you on the cruise, the cave and the museum for a discounted price. we decided to skip the dinner because of the limited menu, lots of other eating options in town.

Beautiful scenery !!! Great ride!!!
By annaj, 9/4/07
We took the one hour cruise as we had heard several negative stories about the dinner cruise. Or "Captain" was very entertaining and knew a lot about the local history and of course the local myths!! The pictures the staff took of each of us turned out great!!! Also we had a chance to take some beautiful pictures from the boat itself of the landscape and the river. The boat was VERY clean and neat. We had the option of sitting where we wanted to and for 1/2 of the trip we sat on the third level and on the lower level for the remaining 1/2 hour. I would encourage ANYONE TO TAKE THIS TRIP. We are so glad we went on the cruise.
